Forums - Sony - BioWare issues ‘no comment’ on Mass Effect 2 PS3 listings.

Oh wait...Dead Rising wasn't a spinoff, was it?

I apologize for my hasty posting. Good point.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Why do half the threads on this site become a debate over whether a game on one console and PC are exclusives or not? Can you guys stop that garbage and get over that some people see it a different way? It's freaking annoying.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

It would seem to be a spinoff because of how it turned out, but it was Dead Rising being adopted to the Wii, and they took a LOT out.  I am on the other side of the camp here.  I believe there should be some exclusives to a given console.  When you do something as an exclusive, you can optimize it for a given console.  Like Boom Blox on the 360 or PS3 would be horrible, but it works on the Wii.  Doing a PS3 game that takes advantage of BluRay, for example, means a superior game experience, because you don't need to port across all platforms.  This doesn't mean that there should be a lot of exclusives, but just enough to make things interesting.

incorrect. PC is a gaming platform separate from the xbox 360. Just because the xbox360 borrows tech from the pc does not make it so.

Microsoft does not sell the operating system for gaming, they sell it for operating. You are incorrect and your logic is flawed. Just because the PC doesn't have first party developers means jack shit all.

Any game, that appears on the PC, is not an exclusive. it can be obtained outside the console and played outside the console.

end of story.

There is 100% overlap between the consoles and the PC market?  Would the fact that a game is also on the PC ALWAYS result in someone not buying a console, and buying a PC instead?

So, NO it isn't the "end of story".  Unless you can show that the PC market is a 100% overlap with consoles, it isn't so.  A game can be exclusive to a give console, while also being on the PC, and this have an impact on console sales.  If this isn't so, then Gran Turismo is NOT a console exclusive, nor are about every single Sony game, because you can now get Gran Turismo on the PSP.

Mass Effect 1, 2, & will be coming to X360...so, what's the big deal? It's not like X360 owners aren't getting it. If it does go to PS3, then yea, the fanboys lose some "bragging" rights, but it's still going to be for X360.

I didn't believe the PS3 slim was coming, despite photographic proof from a PS3 Slim factory. Now, I belief EVERYTHING I read on the internet.....even the contradictory stuff!

Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 confirmed!! And it will still remain 360 exclusive!!

If EA were smart they would release all versions at the same time.

Look at what the late port status did for Bioshock PS3 sales.

If they're gonna have Mass Effect come to PS3 it needs a simultaneous release or not at all.

Personally I hope it doesn't happen. I use my 360 exclusively for exclusives and I don't want it to lose another one.

It can still be true!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I think it will happen. This is EA we are talking about. If Rockstar ported timed console exclusive (I used "console exclusive" to describe Playstation released games, happy now fanboys? lol) GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas to Xbox with extras after the exclusivity deal with Sony dried up, I don't see why EA wouldn't do the same. Then again, they DID keep Left 4 Dead console exclusive as well. But once you say "we don't comment on rumors", you're basically saying it will get ported. Unless Bioware and EA really want PS3 owners to avoid the 360 and PC version and wait for a PS3 version that'll never come. If the timed exclusivity thing happens, which it probably will, of course the 360 version will outsell the PS3 version anyway just like Bioshock, Oblivion and Lost Planet did. Gamers are not a patient bunch. Look at the vast majority of PS360 games and it's holy front-loaded sales batman. It costs them money in the long run to say "no comment" because ideally Bioware and EA want you to buy it first for the 360 or PC and then buy it again for the PS3.
