Forums - Website Topics - Next week is reader appreciation for "Sales of the Day"; you pick the games

10/18-10/24 will be reader appreciation week for the Sales of the Day articles, and as such I'm asking you all to pick the games you want us to look at.

The first “Sales of the Day” article I posted was in the “Change in Sales” series featuring Zelda: Twilight Princess, and it was posted on 9/20.  So on 10/20, I will have been doing this for a month.  Since then I have posted 10 articles, which have averaged over 3,000 views each. Not as high as the official Sale updates, or the VGC Top Ten features, but higher than I expected when I started doing them.  As a way to say thanks to everyone who has read the articles and participated in the threads/ as well as to get even more VGChartz community involvement with the articles, next week I’m asking you all to pick which games will be looking at.

If you are not familiar with the “Sales of the Day” articles here are links to the threads/and articles for the most recent entry in each series.

Change in Sales thread (article link), Sales Battle thread (article link), Retro Sales (article link), Look at Those Legs (article link).

Here is the criteria for casting your vote.

Sales Battle (Compare and predict two games and which will have the higher total sales)

-Cannot involve – Little Big Planet, Wii Music, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros.

- Needs to have some kind of connection/reason for why they would be compared.

- Both games need to have already been released and the possibility of either game winning needs to exist.  I.e not Halo 3 vs. Little King’s Story.

Retro Sales (Looks at sales of games from the 64 bit era and before)

-Cannot be Sonic the Hedgehog, or Mortal Kombat.

- Must be from the 64 bit era or before.

- Must Have sales data for the game in the database.

Look at Those Legs (Looks at why a game did/didn't see sustained weekly sells after launch)

-Cannot be Need for Speed, Assassin’s Creed, Super Mario Galaxy.

- Games needs to have been released for around 18 months.

- Must have weekly sales data for all regions.

So following those rules, please vote for the games you would like to see featured in the “Sales of the Day” articles.

Also, if you have any suggestions (please keep them constructive) for how to improve the threads/articles this would be a great place for it as well.

Thanks again for reading the articles, participating in the threads, and voting here!

Updated: I'm posting peoples nominations so far, your still free to come up with a new one, but if you can't think of one you could choose from these.

Change in sales: Fable
Sales battle: Oblivion vs. Fallout 3: The two RPGs made by Bethesda this generation.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Does anybody else have a vote?

What about MGS for something.

Has Ratchet and Clank been done? I'd like to see how that series has changed in sales.

Faxanadu, did Endless Ocean have games last generation?
studnent, no Ratchet and Clank hasn't been done yet, that could be a good one to look at.

Change in sales - Metroid Prime series
