lestatdark, you should put Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 in your list too.

EarthBound would be at the top of my list for Japanese-made RPGs.

@SMT

I know, especially nocturne since it's one of my favourite SMT games ;)
But I just wanted to give him JRPG games that we're different from the cons that he gave in his post, and in the other JRPG thread, he said specifically that one of the things he hated more in JRPG's was the Arena Turn Based battles, so I gave him the ones I considered the best and didn't have that specific game mechanic ;)

Play Xenogears.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Oh i see, sorry about that.

I really think the turn-based battle system is really well made in SMT-games and makes it pretty addicting, atleast starting from Nocturne, the strategy in searching your enemies's weakness to gain extra turns is pretty cool. And it even makes the games harder when the enemy can use your own elemental weakness, that's why I think the battle system in SMT-games is really deep.

The SMT saga has one of the best turn based battle systems ever. Not only the aspect of elemental weakness working for and against you at the same time, but also is one of the few series in which status effects can really put a dent in your party, since the odds are almost always against you, so if you had an afflicted character and didn't have the means to recover him, you'ld be in major pain xD

I hope one of those is current gen and HD consoles. I can't bother with old games unless their on PC. And Valkyrie Chron i dont like (based on GameAnyone).

Oh boy.

Go ahead: why is it that you can't be bothered with old games?

Well first of all I sold my original Xbox, and I never owned a PS2. The only old console I have is N64.

2nd, my eyes hurt from the bad visuals. I really want to go back and play old games but usually its impossible. Age of Empires II (1999) is the only exception. Probably cos Ive played it continously ever since it was released.

Hey wait, I enjoy old Arcade games on MAME too.
