Chips ahoy rules. You can eat the chewy kind by the box.

I have a feeling it does too, mainly due to the differences in culture. Europeans are different from Americans in many ways. However, I hope you're not using Europeans as a model of health, because even most people living in Europe would tell you that increasingly, that is not the case. More information here (and that article is just from 2006). European obesity rates are increasing at such an alarming rate that now Americans get to laugh at someone else for a change. I know how fattening mac and cheese is, although I don't see why that pertains to this argument. Maybe this list does consist of a lot of junk food, but I'm sure kids would list junk foods as their favorite brands no matter what the time period. Hell, I'd rather have Oreos and fast food (not McDonalds though) over fruits and vegetables any day. Do I eat like that? No. It's just your favorite things. |
I mentioned mac and cheese because that's one of kids' favorite brands. Since this is a list of brandss, not foods, I am frankly surprised why a child would list food as aything close to favorite. What happened to toys and games? Surely there are more than 5-6 companies making those things. It's jsut sad that kids know food more than play and games.
As for the European one, I'm wondering whether they mean obese or overweight with that report. Somehow I doubt they mean the actual besety.

"Up to 27 percent of European men and 38 percent of women (are) now considered to be obese depending on the EU member state concerned," the Commission said in a statement.
Seems pretty clear to me...

How do they define obesety?

Strictly speaking, men are obese when they have a body fat count higher than 25% - women are obese above 33%. This is international, to my understanding.
Some people have said it already, but kids have good taste.
