Saw this posted on PS3 Forums:

According to GfK Media Control these are the console sales numbers for Germany for the last two months:

September 2009:

PS3: 88,000
Wii: 31,200
360: 16,300

August 2009:

PS3: 36,000
Wii: 35,000
360: 13,200

VGchartz has the PS3 at roughly 80k in germany, very accurate and impressive tracking.

I didnt realize that germany was that favorable to the PS3 over the 360 even in august with nearly triple the sales.

PS3 close in September, but some other things seem off by a lot:

GFK September 2009 - VGC August 30-Oct 03, 2009:

PS3: 88,000 - 80,148
Wii: 31,200 - 54,168
360: 16,300 - 31,955

GFK August 2009 - VGC August 02-29, 2009

PS3: 36,000 - 12,013
Wii: 35,000 - 40,678
360: 13,200 - 17,505

The 88,000 number is no suprise. What is surprising though is
How the hell did the ps3 sell more than the wii in august, people knew the pricecut was coming, didnt they.

vgchartz needs to adjust their figures, they have the xbox360 outselling the ps3 slightly in August, yet the gfk numbers show it was closer to a 3:1 advantage for the ps3
vgchartz also has the wii outselling the ps3 3:1, yet gfk shows it was a slight advantage for the ps3

PS3 had a 100 Euro price cut in Europe on August 19.

yea, but imagine they undertracked the ps3 in every others region "slightly" (10%btw)
oh and 50k for the last month in us (NPD)

Wow I didnt knew that PS3 was so strong here even before the slim ? I am stunned. the truth is I saw almost no Ps3 add in TV but a ton Wii adds a lot Xbox 360 adds and I always thought Germany is Wii Land. But maybe its more like in Japan because the last 3 month i saw mainly Handheld adds. Even a PSP Go Add and until now no PS3 Slim add.

 

In the thread there was one who said Germany game Market is bigger then UK. That was obviously wrong but. Some Months ago someone was asking which are the biggest markets in Europe I stated UK Germany France. The others corrected me and said Uk France Germany. But it seems that Germany is the second biggest market in Europe.
