I actually think this ends up playing out well for Obama.

Mostly due to republicans not being able to help themselves.

It's not a stretch to say that MOST people think Obama didn't deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.

However... it came right after Chicago lost the Olympics and Republicans sounded happy that Obama failed.

Which generally makes the overreaction those same pundits are having here seem even more petty and makes Republicans look downright horrible.

In general the average persson can just think "yeah... he didn't deserve it... but what's wrong with you guy?  Getting that upset and shit."

Or just in general "What's wrong with you getting so upset" without having to even think about any qualifications Obama might of needed.

In general they are making the story about them instead of Obama... when the proper response would of simply been the very valid "What has he done?"

Instead of "This is europe trying to castrate Obama and the US more by forcing his hand by giving him a shiny gold metal and some money!"

That is so fucking infantile. It's like saying, "ZOMG, the Taliban and the Democrats both hate Bush."

I hate Bush, and I think Obama is lightyears away from deserving the Nobel, so I guess I'm Super Taliban Mask ULTRA.

No, he didn't deserve it. Even I would admit that he has been all talk and no action up until this point. Maybe in three or four years when he has been able to bring a few of his plans into action and they have worked, then yeah, why not. But so far he hasn't done anything to warrant the Nobel peace prize.

That said, I do like the fact he has donated the prize money to charity, it really speaks to your character to give $1,000,000 away.

He's already worth millions and he's got a presidential pension which is about the best one you can get ever since Ulysses S Grant went broke and Congress pretty much said "never again."

Also I mean after his presidency he's going to be getting paid 6 figures just to give speaches.

It plays much better for him and works in his favor to give it away.  I can't see any politician keeping that money... well except Al Gore.

For example Dick Cheney gave away something like 7 million dollars while vice president... not many people think of Dick Cheney as someone with a particularly good character.

Edit: and don't worry about grant.  He ended up selling is autobiography to Mark Twain and made back some money.  Still it was too close a call.  Ironically said memoirs are hailed as some of the best every written.  A great piece of litteratrue that was produced out of destitution that would of never came about had Grant not been ripped off.

What about the 10's of millions of Democrats that are pissed off about it?

  Pissed off about the GOP's lack of class, I don't see anything wrong about it, why shouldn't they be upset that the GOP is playing partisan politics at a time when Americans should be working together to solve the problems we continue to have.  The GOP has been the party of No long enough.
