Well that's obvious. The PS3 may close the gap a bit, but the launch of Natal will help the 360 leave it in the dust.

I cant help but lol hard at that, iam sure the halo fanboys will but it as if it was the last halo ever. 

Wrong console for such experimental gaming controls.  It will have no affect at all on hw, 360 fanbase will not embrace it they will shun it.

Natal will be trying to expand the traditional Xbox demographic of fans so it matters little what the curent fanbase will buy or not.  I happen to think given I am a 360 owner and realy like the look of Natal that you're opinion on fans shunning it is garbage.

other than extreme price cutting and natal being the messiah of video game features there is no way the 360 can stop the ps3.

the launch spike of the slim compared to the spike of the wii price cut is more evidence that there is a huge demand for ps3s.

this demand will cause fence-line buyers to go with the ps3 over the 360 when the decision is close. since the wand and natal do pretty similar things, it is not reasonable to conclude one will have a more significant impact than the other. m$ does not have the new ip's to move units like sony does.

this leaves price-cutting. i don't think m$ will drop the price any time soon. when they do, i think the cut needs to be at least 100 dollars in order to substantially affect the sales war. i find this doubtful.

its not meant for the 360 userbase, dont you see this? They're going after the wii audience...

It looks like PS3 could beat the 360 by 1m shipped units end Sep 31 Q if VG chartz is right. Then I could see, if all goes well for Sony, PS3 picking up another 2 mil over the 4Q.

That would still leave them 4.6m behind. Gains will be harder to come by in the slow times of 2010, IE 1, 2, 3Q. So it comes down to can Sony gain significantly in 4Q 010, against Natal, Reach, etc? If Sony wants to overtake 360 in shipments in any timely fashion, they will need to.

Tall order imo.

You should know better than to put out a thread like this in a ps3 fanboy dominated website. They refuse to believe that sony could ever be last in a console war, especially to an american company.

Face it: MS did something right this gen and sony flopped due to its arrogance.

Why not just wait for the end of this year, and see what gap will be? If the gap will be around 5 mln., instead of current 7.5 mln., then, well you know what.

Natal? Do you people understand, that to succeed, Natal have to be bundled with every x360, otherwise, it just will meet the fate of Eye Toy HD.
