LOL!! I know, it is kind of funny. PS3 fanboys think the they wil finish 2nd, xBox 360 fanboys thinking their console will in 2nd. In the end, neither console will be FIRST, which is the most important position for console wars.

Nintendo has proven for the last two gens that to TRULY be on top, profit is key, regardless of the marketshare. Btw, why must someone be labeled as a "fanboy" for a belief? There are a LOT of non-one sided people who believe the PS3 will beat the 360 and vice-versa. Just because somebody has an opinion/prediction doesn't mean they are "fanboys".
I swear that term is pathetic...

But Nintendo has the profit lead as well

Clearly you missed the point of the post.

No I merely focused on the one point that I considered relevant, your responded to Xander's comment that neither would be on top (as Wii would be on top), by saying that profit is what decides what is key, and my point was that Nintendo dominates both sales and profits, so again neither Sony nor MS will be on top.
|
Sony profited the last two gens that they won. Sony has already been on top, even if Nintendo made more money. It deoesn't cancel out what money Sony made and nobody has ever dominated console sales like Sony.
I'd suggest you go through history and then try to come back and tell us that Sony was never on top. I said PROFIT IS KEY, not the company that makes the most profit is the winner. PS1 - Profitable, PS2 - Profitable......what else do they have in common - they stayed WELL ahead of Nintendo, despite Nintendo making more money.
I'm sure most people will get my point. You will probably just continue to argue, even when you're wrong......

Sony lost most if not all of that money on the PS3, so they still came out badly in the profit department
Sony won two generations very well and good, but bad profits are far more dangerous than losing a gen, Sony is in financial trouble, and Nintendo even with two generations out of the top sales spot was never in trouble.
So yeah actually Nintendo wins, because the company that doesn't make money, either dies or is forced to scale back, while the company that does, continues to thrive
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
