Forums - Nintendo - Capcom still giving Nintendo the crumbs...

You could also look at it this way. Capcom has announced 6 games recently.

360/PS3 announced games:
Bionic Commando
Dark Void
Commando 3

Wii announced games:
Okami Wii
Monster Hunter 3

Unknown:
Street Fighter IV

So in the last 3 weeks they have announced 6 games. 2 of which are on the Wii and 3 of which are on the PS3 and Xbox 360. One is unknown. Sales wise, Street Fighter is the biggest franchise on there followed by Monster Hunter, so I would say the support isn't too bad.

Also, IGN did in fact just assume it's Xbox 360/PS3. This is the actual quote from them on the SFIV Xbox 360 page "This game has been confirmed as a project in development at Capcom, but official platform plans have not yet been confirmed -- plans may include an arcade release as well as release on next-generation gaming platforms. Street Fighter IV may or may not be released on this specific system. Please check back for a status update on this title."

My guess is they'll release a version of SFIV on all systems.  There is no reason not to.  Let's face it, they are just going to do what they did with SFIII and copy/paste the same game engine and add a couple characters for a $60 pricetag.

Here's to hoping otherwise.

If street fighter 4 going to be a 2D game.

someone like to tell me why a 2D game like Street fighter cant be made ont he wii????dont use the wiimote arguement, capcom can easily make the game support the classic controller or the GC controler. One more thing you dont need a super cpu and gpu to run a 2D game.

i dont see them not lovin on the wii--espicaly after what the re sleeked RE4 did for them

When did they do this to SF3? I don't remember any cutting and pasting.

I hope that SF4 is 2D, that would be awesome.

Please don't take this the wrong way...

Does anyone actually still care that much about the Street Fighter franchise?

Too late...I am taking it the wrong way...*cries*

Of course people still care. It's not what it was before, but people still like the franchise.

Capcom is hedging their bets with the XBox 360 and PS3 by released EVERY game on both systems with quite a few hitting the PC. It seems that Capcom has enough faith in the Wii to release their Wii games as exclusives (when they could have released many as PS2/PSP games).

Over the next several months I would expect to see a similar trend of Wii games being exclusive while more and more PS3/XBox 360 games are fully multiplatform; at the same time I would expect them to slowly announce more Wii games than PS3/XBox 360/PC multiplatform games (although that will be a slow and steady improvement).

I really feel that many developers will go this route this generation. Some big new prestige titles taht are dumped to PC/PS3/360 to recoup costs, and then quirkry/family/other games to take advantage of the big Wii user base.

The main differnce is the development time. We'll be talking about these same 360/Ps3 games from Capcom all year. Meanwhile we will see all 4 or at least 3 of those 4 Wii games come out in the next 5 months, those teams will get moved to new Wii projects and we will get 4 more Wii titles from Capcom Q4 2008 - Q1 2009. (Maybe I am a little overly optimistic, but the upside to smaller games is they can make mroe of them)

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

Interesting there is no Resident Evil 5 on that list. If the Wii could snag that, it would certainly tip the balance.

I would put serious money against Resident Evil 5 being on the Wii.
