Dragon Age getting DLC expansion on day one

All-new Warden's Keep add-on will launch alongside dark fantasy RPG Nov. 3; Stone Prisoner and Blood Armor also available immediately; first trailers inside.

The Warden's Keep will be available for MSP 560 ($7) on Xbox Live Marketplace and $7 on the PC on November 3. It will cost the same price on the PlayStation Store when the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age goes on sale later in November. It is not included with the regular or Collector's Edition of Dragon Age: Origins, although it is included in the Deluxe Digital Edition offered by online retailers. For a sneak peek, peruse the trailer below:

They should have just included this in the game but I'll end up getting the DLC too for the 6 new abilities.

I hate when developers do this. Make the game, then the DLC! Don't make the game and DLC and sell seperately. Bethesda have learnt how to do DLC after the problems with Oblivion, are Bioware going to go through the same process?

day 1 for me

I will never pay for downloadable content that comes out within one month of the release of the game.

Good point, I forgot EA had Bioware.

I hate that Bull**** i just paid 60 bucks for your game and you dont give it all to me, whoever started this paid dlc should be shot. Most dlc has been made and waiting a few months for release so you just bought a half done game and will pay 20 more bucks to get the rest of it.

Seems like Bioware is going to go through similar growing pains as Bethesda. The question is with the larger die hard Bioware fans will Bioware/EA actually learn or be encouraged to do screwy DLC.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

This may help to explain the reason for the day one DLC

Nice find!

The excuse is typical though... DLC was made to make money to pay employees who might otherwise have no projects to work on.

However, requiring sales from the DLC vs. making the DLC and using that to market the game might be a wash. I have a feeling Batman: AA used free DLC to limit the amount of new games sold back to used game retailers, as well as market the game to increase sales within the first few weeks. Not sure what effect it had though.
