I don't get why there has to be a GT5 vs Forza 3 discussion ALL THE TIME!
Forza 3 will be an awesome racing game for sure. Reviews are awesome, people loved the demo.
So, the Xbox360 / Microsoft has definately 3 major franchises for now and future generations. Forza Motorsport, Fable and Halo are franchises that will continue to get people excited in the years to come.

Can't believe you forgot Gears lol.

Forza in no where near a major fanchise, even fable is not.
And they are nowhere near halo or even gears so lets not get crazy.

Fable II went over 1 million week one, if that's not a sign of "a big franchise" I'd like to know what is.
|
Some pleople love to argue for the sake of arguing...Forza 2 did 350K in week one, and since that time, the 360's base has almost doubled, not to mention that Forza 3 looks to be a very highly rated game over as compare the to last one, which did great as well. So, I'm not a racing fan, but most people who got it have enjoyed it.

true.
Fable II sold 3.15 million and might cross 4 million in late 2010 (when Fable III releases). If this is not a major franchise, the PS3 has only seen 5 major franchises this gen. (GTA IV, CoD 4, CoD 5, MGS 4 and Assassins Creed) The other games who crossed 3.15 million on the PS3 did so because of bundles.
Forza is a great franchise. It sold 4 million with bundles. Without bundles probably around 2.5 million. And it looks like Forza 3 will easily pass 2.5 million. I mean Forza 2 did outsell games like LBP (bundled) or Resident Evil (bundled) on the PS3 even without the bundles. I think this is a great success for Turn10 and MS.
I really don't get this denying. There are still people on the internetz who just don't accept that MS is established in the gaming industry and so is their software.
I did not count Gears, because MS do not own the ip.
