Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii Save Files Question

Hey gang,

is it possible to copy save files from one Wii to another? For example I want to keep playing Wii Fit with my profile and Mii on another Wii, how would I go about doing that?

From what I understand, just transfer the file to your SD card, and then unload it onto the next Wii's system memory. Supposedly this does not work with all games (namely Brawl).

I think u cant copy wiifit data to a memory card ?
u need to use homebrew apps to do that.

no way? which app is that?

@angrypoolman: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Savegame_Manager

although it isn't worth the trouble imo, cuz you have to install something called a cIOS which is an extra peice of OS for the (like upgrades for windows) but a cIOS (c is for custom) is made by a homebrew programmer.

if you really want to move your savegame and your Wii won't let you (i had that with brawl) then you can install the Homebrew channel and use that app to manage your save files.

with wiifit, it'll let you save it to an sd card so you can transfer it to a different wii. just remember to copy your mii on a wiimote, and bring it to the other wii too, or the game won't have it to use (i think if the mii isn't there, it will either delete that data, or slap a generic guest mii on it.)

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

mostly games with online are restricted to a single console. Just copy your Mii and Wii Fit data with an SD card to another console. No Homebrew Needed.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

What about games that have online?

1 - Copy save file into SD card. Some games don't support this.
2 - transfer your mii to your wiimote internal memory (The amount of Wii owners that doesn't know this scares me)
3 - transfer save file from SD card to Wii from Wii Menu
4 - transfer Mii from the Wiimote to Mii channel in the other console or boot it up straight from the game. Just some games supports this.
