Check here for a description of how MS is trying to make the process more integrated into the NXE.  Please note, I'm not trying to convince you that it is better or worse than using your browser on your PS3 to do this, only noting that Microsoft is trying to make the social aspect of the 360 integral to the NXE.

The PS3 can do most things because of the web browser but it's just not fully integrated and part of it the way things like Netflix, Facebook, last.fm, and Twitter are.  I *believe* you can set it to automatically update things like Facebook with what you're playing or watching which I guess is cool for some people.

Also, I don't know if other people have had the same luck I have, but I usually have problems with the PS3 browser crashing or just running out of memory so I don't use it.


it used to but I havent had any problems recently.

Like Twes said, the PS3's memory is the only obstacle. It's the best porn watching device in my house, but it crashes a lot. Try going to myspace or facebook on the thing. It's a nightmare if anyone's put any work into their profile!

Netflix won't work, either. At least, I couldn't get it to work when I had it. I've heard of people who could, though.

Yes you can but that a pain in the ass....plus the average consumer dosent even know you can do that...

Only if you have a Phat PS3. Slims don't allow the installation of alternative OS's.

If you tweak the ps3 browser a bit, things become easier and crashes become rare (though not unheard of), I practically watch all my missed tv shows on my ps3 now, never on my pc.



PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

I suck. My PS3 and PSP don't have any special capabilities like Linux. I don't know how to do it.
