Forums - Gaming - The Console Race: Did Sony Diet Too Early?

I think they did the "Slim" at just the right time. And it seems to be paying off so far.

Give it another 2-3 Years, and there will be another "Slim" version of PS3. Probably with external power brick, less fans, smaller Blu-ray drive... Maybe smaller chipsets (if possible).

And i think the lowest PS3 will go in price will be $199.99, slight possiblity of it hitting $150... but highly doubtful.

It's too bad it's earlier. Great for the consumer, but ultimately this is only being done in responce to business needs of desperation. PS3 while a great machine and will have a great library one that a lot of people someday will have(used PS3 & games). It's not in the best situation it can be right now. For the PS3 it's on last road. It will be a long one, but it's days of competing are pretty much coming to a close. I look forward to future pricecuts to pic it up. So count me in as a happy consumer :)

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
