| Sqrl said: I kind of read it as Reggie saying MS only had the one bullet and Nintendo had many.....perhaps unrevealed? OMG you heard it here first October Surprise!!! ...that was a joke for those who don't know =P Anyways, on a serious note. I like the fact that Reggie gets out there and makes some comments every month to let folks know they are still thriving, but I don't really think it is wise for him to pick at MS or Sony. I think he should focus on why Nintendo has a great product and let the comparison stand on its own. That has worked really well so far and I don't see a reason to suspect it can't continue. But more importantly it shows that he isn't even worried about that them and feels no need to address their presence at all. |
And what exactly would you like them to say? I feel Reggie handled the situation cleverly without being too dismissive (not adressing it at all) or too confrontational (outright attacking the 360). PR is a delicate balance and its not always about desperately trying to counter everything the competition does. Nintendo is perhaps the most aware of anyone just how fragile their lead is and have spoken publically of this caution time and time again. If Nintendo doesn't say anything, people will say they're overconfident. If Nintendo says something, people say they're overconfident. It's really a no win from this vantige point of criticism.

Cocky? So when Sony PR says "they don't buy exclusivity, they earn it" and "That Gamers will see that fun is all in the EYE of the beholder", that's not cocky, but when Reggie makes a clever quip to address a delicate situation he's suddenly drunk with power?
