Forums - Sony - IGn review: Afrika... Ouch.

Well the idea was ... interesting I guess

IGN Ratings for Afrika (PS3)
Rating Description
out of 10 click here for ratings guide
3.5 Presentation
The time it takes to get into the game and the time it takes to save is ridiculous. There's no flash or flair to any of the game's somewhat clunky menus.
5.0 Graphics
The animals look robotic, the grass is a flat texture on the floor, and your people look and move oddly.
3.5 Sound
There's next to nothing when it comes to sound in this game. There are no voices and only one song that stands out. The animals roar OK… I guess.
3.5 Gameplay
Everything here is tedious from breaking out your camera to struggling with the lame car controls.
3.5 Lasting Appeal
There are jobs to take, but why would you?

OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Quite bad for the folks of Natsume, they did a big effort to bring this to America.

Around the Network

ouch is right lol

Has around a 70 average on Meta. Not too bad overall. I can see why they stealth-released it, though.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

yeowch. 3.5 on presentation

omg...that's horrible. I thought it looked good.

But that's really exagerated by IGN to give it that low. I'm sure it's not that bad.
I still want to buy it :)

Around the Network

3.5 is pretty low, but I never saw this getting very high scores anyways, it is a very different "game"

"Photographing a yawning hippo is about as exciting as it sounds"

I lol'ed at that.

I read his review and I think he did not understand the goal of the game. It's just a different genre of game like Flower was...

I want to have a good reason to buy this game >.

1UP gave an B-.

Wow. And I just asked Sony for the game. Hmmm ... I would like to try it out, but if it's a turd, no thanks.
