Forums - Gaming - Choose between only playing 1st party or never playing 1st party

Just curious to find out, for each console you own, answer if you would prefer to only be able to play 1st and 2nd party games or to only be able to play 3rd party. In any case where there was collaboration, it counts as 1st party if Sony/ninty/MS own the (majority of the IP) So Pokemon is a Ninty game, Mario and Sonic is a Sega game because Sega owns 50% of the Ip and did 99% of the developing

Looking at my games collection, I gotta say I would miss 3rd party games, but couldn't give up Ninty games

Nintendo (any console): 1st party > than all. This includes Mario Party 1.

Microsoft: The best games are 1st party (or 2nd party), but I gotta go with 3rd party.

Sony: PSP = 3rd party, easily. PS3......hmmm. If I didn't have a 360, it's 3rd party time.

I have to agree 100% with this post and add in DS third party only because of the massive amounts of great offerings not Nintendo on the system, Nintendo probably makes the best games on the DS but limiting yourself to a few really good games vs massive amounts of good third party titles like Scribblenauts, KH358, and a lot of JRPG games, it's probably the first time I'd pick third party offerings on a Nintendo console ever.

EDIT: Now if Nintendo made a Mother collection or a new Mother game on the DS I'd change my mind *hint hint*

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

1st party for any Nintendo console ever made.

For my 360, I'd rather have 3rd Party.

Out of the five platforms, the only one I'd take first party over third party...maybe, is the Wii. Even then it would be rather tough. That's still limiting myself to a handful of potential great titles a year. Forget it, even the Wii I'd have to go third party.

First party, no matter which console.

O_o

...

Anyway...

Wii: First party. Wouldn't be missing out on much.

DS: First party. I only bought it for Pokemon :P

PS3: Tough one. I'd miss MGS4 and FFXIII, but I'd rather have Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, Ratchet and Team ICO games.

Is Endless Ocean first party? If not, then third party.

I like sports games and I like a variety of titles in general. I'd miss Advance Wars the most myself, but unfortunately Nintendo hasn't been smart enough to bring it to the Wii, so that's no loss there. If you go in my game collection, you'll probably understand.
