Forums - Gaming - The next PSN/Xbox Live/WiiChannel evolution?

So i just got done watching John Adams on BD and i was looking to download some videos from the PSN and i got to thinking......

How awesome would it be to have 1st party games and eventually third party games with a channel or dedicated store zone in which we can view video previews and reviews that download with the game demos.

Ill speak about the PSN firsthand since i own a PS3 but i feel its general gaming as all 3 consoles have a user interface store in place.

Instead of or existing in the "whats new" tabs there should be a release date tab with one click video downloads of previews and reviews and with them comes the game demo. Sure, it won twork with shovelware or subpar games as devs may not want to tout th eproduct....but think about it for Uncharted, NSMBWii, Alan Wake etc.

What a way to engage gamers, with one click we could have access to specific game information on the release calender for upcoming games that may or may not be on our radar.

It would expose people who may not frequent all agmeing websites or people who arent marking down the days to a game they want.

Granted the demos give us first hand experience, but we all still trust and are interested in game reviews. but the general consumer it could prove beneficial to not only peak interest in new games but give them information to new genres and simply just easier access instead of having to keep up daily by visiting websites, plus, th eobvious benefit of keeping people in the console and the store would encourage more interactivity and promote even more sales that otherwise may not have been made.

I think the dedicated mags of PS, Xbox and Nintendo generally do a good job of addressing their base's interest impartially.....people can shout bias, but doing some research it seems these mags and reviews generally stay in line with undustry standards and would be a good tool to ad to the online interfaces.

Thoughts?

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!

yea, on the what's new section it shows popular game releases (like gran turismo PSP), and you click on it and it goes to the web page with the previews and trailers and stuff..

On the Wii front, Nintendo Channel basically does that already for Wii and DS games (even demos, in the DS's case)
