Forums - Sony - Uncharted 2 can't/won't become a Killzone 2...

Got to say, despite any high hopes Sony (or others) might have had, KZ2 was always going to struggle in USA.

Most of it's potential audience was already committed to another platform, and even if KZ2 had been the best FPS ever (which it wasn't, although it's very, very good) it would have failed to sell better.

On paper, given the fact KZ2 is a very good FPS, you'd expect it to be on 4 or 5 Million. But that would need a far greater adoption in US.

It's interesting to note that on PS3, many FPS and similar titles seem to sell roughly the same in Us and Others. On 360, FPS and similar titles sell way more in US relative to Others sales.

And that skew will always (unless PS3 really starts to hit home in US) hold back big FPS on PS3.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It had better not be! I want to see 6 million for this bad boy. Hell, whatever the install base is for the PS3, that is how many sells it should get.

Also, please don't put Uncharted in the same sentence as Killzone 2. Night and day my friend.

killzone 2 was average.
Uncharted 2 is not.
Simples.

How can a game with the best graphics ever seen on a console with some great online depth and gameplay be considered just ''average'' ? It's standing at 91% on metacritic FFS, stop the bs'ing.

Uncharted 2 is a step above Killzone 2 but don't be ridiculous.

Because what makes or breaks a game aren't production values, but... as Malstrom says: content - gameplay, and plot, AKA "experience".

According to what I heard, a lot of pepole didn't like Killlzone's gameplay, since it was quite different than ordinary FPS gameplay.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

So, with 2 weeks to go...what's the general consensus on how it does?

Since when being different was a bad thing.  Just a thought.

I'm sure how Uncharted 2 being like Killzone 2 would be a bad thing. KZ2 was a great game and it sold well. What's the issue?

If I bought a PS3 I would more likely go after Uncharted 2. That game looks amazing. I'm not so interested in Killzone 2.

i think uncharted will sell better than killzone for 2 reasons. First off KZ2 was an FPS and Americans for the most part are already Halo or COD addicts so KZ2 was going to struggle against these two behemoths and competition was very fierce. On the other hand uncharted doesnt have nearly the genre competition. And second the PS3 is now $299 making it much more affordable

Long Live SHIO!

I hope uncharted doesn't suffer a similar fate :s

Killzone 2 was released in the worst date possible, Uncharted 2 is being released on the best date possible, with the best timing possible, right after the slim price cut
