  • Metal Gear Solid 4 - Niche game.  The only reason it got as much press as it did is because it's a large niche (but still a niche) and it got hyped to Hell.  And no, it would have sold any more on the 360, it probably would have sold less since its niche is largely Playstation loyal.
  • Killzone 2 - Other than graphics, it wasn't anything special.  Other similar games available on the PS3 had it beat in every other catagory.
  • inFamous - Had competition from a game almost exactly like it.
  • Little Big Planet - Sold a lot more than I thought it would and I suspect it didn't sell more because it's the wrong audience for the PS3.

What other exlusives are you talking about?

ummmm

ROFLLMAO.

sorry sorry i had to laugh at this comment. So plz sir enlighten me as too how 4 million could possibly be niche. Every single PS owner knows wat MGS is. Everyone in my god damn neighbourhood at least has heard of this series. Niche pffft you sir are a fool

It just is?  I would be willing to be a LARGE majority of the people who bought have never played any of the others and bought solely based on hype.  That's Sony trying to make it a non-nich game, though who knows how well that worked.

ROFL, well not hype the game have pedigree, MSG 1 -2-3 were good.

halo 3 is average shooter, and it sold millions. so hype sells :p

1. Most people use PS3 as a Blu Ray player.

2. The price hindered the attach rate.

3. Sony rely too much on brand loyalty. They're stepping their game up, though.

4. MGS4 sold very well. Killzone 2 sold all right. LittleBigPlanet sold over 2 million, which is pretty good.

Most people use the PS3 as a blu-ray player? 'most people' you beleave that? haahahhaahahaha

I don't know, its very hard to say why. Me personally I own 75% of PS3 exclusive. Love inFamous and LBP but hated Resistance and KZ2. I purchase 99% of Multiplat games on the 360 unless something like the Joker DLC for Batman:AA come into play.

Huh, 5 of my 6 PS3 games are exclusives.

You said if you were a dev, you would stop making PS3 games and go to the Xbox? Ok...let's see what Sony has to say when Naughty Dog makes a 360 game

Indeed its interesting.
Multiplats on Ps3 and Xbox 360 sell most of time more on Ps3 when compared the attach rate.
Ps3 owners most likely bought Ps3 over Xbox 360 because of exclusives (then didin't buy Xbox 360 because of it problems/personal taste, then PS brand, then blu-ray,then free internet and other multimedia stuff).
Then we have Killzone 2,inFamous etc that are greatly reviewd but still won't sell even 10% of user base, while games like Assassin'S Creed has sold what 3m?

But as a gamer, if game like Mgs 4 gets greatly reviwed, has good hype, looks awesome, not many others games to play righ now, I would buy it even if I'm not fan of Mgs series.

Aside from calling Killzone 2 completely average, my only gripe is calling the PS3 audience "wrong" for LBP.  It sold a remarkable amount for a new ip yet it is wrong?  C'mon....

Muramasa, NMH, Madworld, HOTD: Overkill. Why do they keep releasing these games to the wrong audience? I don't think Wii owners that frequent this site would agree necessarily.

It is just the wrong audience for the typical PS 3 owner (and depsite what people may think, forum-goers are not the typical any-console owners) as is NMH and Madworld the wrong game for the Wii audience.

And I agree, LBP did sell incredibly well for a new IP on the wrong platform, definitely did better than I thought it was going to do.
