I can't see Disney letting anything too bizarre slip by. At worst I imagine some Don Bleuth-level stuff.

If only....

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Don Bluth is a former Disney animator who, when breaking from Disney, founded his own studio. Don Bluth productions has made such hits as Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, The Land Before Time and Anastasia. His animating style uses traditional animation techinques and could be considered very "dark." Before he left Disney Bluth worked on The Black Cauldron, so yeah he has some "dark" credentials.

Ever see the original Land Before Time? An American Tale? All Dogs Go to Heaven?

...Rock-a-Doodle, even?

That freaking owl

Khuutra: Don "Bleuth"? Heh. Kind of ruins the flow of the name, doesn't it?

Well, I was actually going to say this was somewhat reminicent of one of his early films. Kind of makes me wish he had worked on more video games.

I suppose Henry Selick is an even closer match, though.

On topic: I do think this could be pretty darn awesome. Maybe a million+ seller if it delivers. It might be too esoteric and dark (like a Don Bluth film!) for some people, though, and we don't know how well a Mickey game without Final Fantasy would do in today's market. The last Mickey game I bought was Capcom's The Magical Quest a decade or so ago.

Come to think of it, that was a mighty awesome game...

Do you remember the ending where one of the dogs go to Hell?

Is that the only Don Bluth fil you saw? What about the Secret of NIMH (I think that was him)? The Brave Little Toaster? Throw me a freaking bone, here!

Do you have a Blockbuster nearby? If you do, get the Secret of NIMH and, uh... the original Land Before Time.

No. No Blockbuster.

I thought Land before Time was a nice movie!

Anyway, be glad I love Pixar.
