Okay. I am a huge boxing fan. Fight Night 4 is, at least to me, the best boxing game to the day. The physics and strategies required to come out a winner really makes the game a must own for any boxing fan.

However, i have a real isue with the roster. WHERES FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR??? Where are those headlining boxers like Cristobal Areola and Paul Williams. Wheres Brnard Hopkins, which was in ALL previous ones. I dont know about yall but what i feel EA Sports needs to understand is that when these pay per view boxing events happen, the whole idea of a fan is to immitate the boxing match they just saw afterwards. Floyd is the biggest piece missing from the puzzle. U have ALI who many consider the greatest, but u dont have MONEY MAYWEATHER?

another is the fact that we had to pay to be able to use Oscar De La Hoya who was in all previous fight nights and knockout kings, and the Klitscko brothers, who are both current champs. They shoulda been there from the get go. We get guys like Thomas Adamek and Emmanuel Augusts who is currently an absolute bum but no current champs like Wlad and Vitali.

Another is the fact that in one of those weight classes, i think its Batanweight, theres only one boxer in that weight class. The point of a weight class is to have a fight in that weight class. Who am i gona use to fight that one guy besides himself lol. I know theres the download a created boxer feature, but thats beyond the point.

Still, great game but should have been better for fans such as myself. Any thoughts you guy here at VG might have about the game in relation to my case?

I agree the roster sucks. Where is joe louis. Rocky marcianno. They are missing a lot of all time greats. My biggest problem is the career mode though. There is no money what so ever, and on top of that there is no promoter aspect which is a huge part of boxing. It is a step in the right direction with the actually gameplay but the roster needs some work as does the career mode. Why would I want to fight with Augustus and not mayweather? How can you not have the greatest boxer of all time??? Joe louis

You are absolutely right. Joe Louis and the Rock should be there. Its funny how the whole promotion idea of this game with Tyson and Ali is the fact that you can put a legend such as Ali in the ring with current or recent champs like Tyson, but thats it tho. I cant put Marciano against Tyson, or Joe Louis with Lennox Lewis? Gimme a break EA. U got guys like Kelly Pavlik, Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto who are all champs in their respective weight classes, but no Wladimir Klitscho or Vitali in the original roster?? Is roy jones even in this game? Or Evander Hoyfield? Y not?!

Missing Characters?

Well unlike other sports titles, EA has to individually get the rights to boxers. So It may be a cost issue. Dgc1808 mentioned DLC and that may be a way for them to get around the cost factor. Paying licensing fees to each individual boxer can't be cheap.

Yea I can see that being a problem. But they put fighters in the game no one particularly cared about. And the career mode is once again a failure. It's like they took a bunch of guys who knew nothing about boxing and told them to make a game. It is a lot better than games past but no where near where it should be. With all that it is still easily one of my favorite games..

Those fighters no one cared about probably had cheap licensing fees. Which makes it a cheap way for them to say we feature x number of boxers.

I'm not sure licensing was the only issue. It seems they are going away from putting in the classic boxers from the past. Like they did in all there other games going back to knockout kings. To put in average fighters of this time. I can't see how putting joe louis would be more expensive than say a cotto or a mosley. They are trying to get away from the classic angle all together. They should though. If they won't take the time to get certain boxing styles right and make them accurate, then they should just not include them.

Fight Night Round 4 is missing all kinds of things, not just in the roster. It has been the biggest diappointment to me this gen and FNR3 was one of my fave games. They still haven`t got right the movement of boxers. Camera settings were minimal too. And the way they punch when they lean back and have a bent arm when they punch is laughable. IMO they have missed out on the tactical essence that FNR3 had. Not saying that FNR3 was perfect but I was expecting soooo much more out of Round 4. And what is with that stupid counter punch system? Played it for a while hoping it would get better and it didn't.
