I know.  I don't get why people don't see the Go! is not the latest PSP but a model aimed at a different ownership experience.  That's why the PSP 3000 is still on the market.

The fact that SONY is gonna continue supporting the 3000 and UMD's makes me think that people are just silly. They're complaining about a serious no-issue... actually they're complaining about a good thing for them.

If you're a PSP 3000 owner the only way the GO affects you is that it got SONY to put more content for your system in the store. THAT'S ALL.

I agree with the OP on one thing:

When I first started frequenting this site, back in March of this year or something like that, one of the most commonly discussed failures of the PSP was the UMD drive. A lot of people wanted it gone. They said it was the reason for the short battery life and they were sick of carrying UMDs around.

So yes, they did complain about UMDs. Not everyone did, but a lot of people did.

I did hear a lot of people before the psp go was even announced complaining that umd was a "dead format" and that people didnt use umd  because they played pirate games off the memory stick, and that sony should try digital downloads

Slighty going off topic now. I've even heard people say with the 360 that they don't care about it being on dvd's that they would rather play games that have been installed to the HDD

so i do see his point, i heard people complain about the UMD being usless and dead, and now sony have done something about it people want UMD back, it seems people just love to moan these days and cant be pleased

No matter what you say the PSPGO will remain one of the most stupidest moves sony has made this gen. With no features added besides bluetooth and the loss of the umd drive plus costing more.........its a lose-lose situation for anyone that purchases a PSPGO.

This is like sony releasing the ps3 slim , along side the ps3 phat, at $600 with no blue ray drive........why even bother?

The pspgo is more expensive , it's games are more expensive, it has no umd drive...........WHERE ARE THE BENEFITS?

These might not be the features you want, but it does have benefits. For me it was a no brainer. I have so much money I could toss it out the window and not give a shit and I want portability.

This is not meant for the every day consumer, it's a high end product.
