wow good post but honeslty who cares? Especially on the 360 where everything is upscaled its honestly not that noticable of a difference and i havnt noticed too much of an issue with the PS3 either. People need to stop complaining about it because we dont see wii owners bitching about their consoles measly 480p and all these games have a way higher resolution that that. Just enjoy your games and stop worrying about the resolution

Long Live SHIO!

I don't care all I know is I want the game.

Wow...are people REALLY that anal about this stuff? Does the game look good...is the action and movement controls good...those are needing to be asked, not jaggies questions. Difference systes have their programming quirks, but hey...whatever they want to dedicate HOURS on writing. I just wanna rip somebody's head off with King!

Folks need to realize that the HD consoles do not have the power to deliver resolutions like 1080p (or even 720p in many cases) for graphically intense titles.

But so what? So long as the game looks good and it's animations, art direction, etc. is fine then just enjoy it. The graphics are still a huge leap from PS2, etc. if that's what you want.

Now, if the animation is crap, the graphics clearly look poor, etc. then there's a problem.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I find that the reasoning of the article is sort of backwards.

If I'm promised a pay of $100 and a bonus of $50, I would be pretty mad if my boss told me that I only got $50 and a bonus of $50 with the motivation that: "I could give you $100, but then I couldn't give you the bonus"

I mean, really? I don't care all that much what the resolution is, but it seems to me that if you promise one resolution, then OBVIOUSLY that should include all benefits of post processing. The cry "But it looks better with this effect than without!" smells of whining. Not because it isn't true, but because it was supposed to be there without a drop in resolution. And then it would have looked even better.

This is invisible text!

Have a damn whinge!

The only options are/were

1) Make the PS360 more powerful and expensive. Which if done would have killed both consoles off as quick as the dreamcast.

2) Make games more efficient - this is not really an option for most devs, they simply aren't good enough. Even if they are, it then takes more time and money to develop a game, so games would be $70, or more devs would have gone bust.

3) Reduce graphical effects - yeah, this makes sense, make a game look much worse in order to allow you to make it look slightly better. Graphical effects and framerate are much more important than resolution anyway

from the vid I saw of Tekken 6, I couldn't care less about the new version of the game... I felt like I was watching tekken 1 but with better visuals (the character annimation seemed identical to me, though I didn't care enough to actually compare them).

uncharted 2 says hello.
720p and by a long long shot the best graphics and textures in a console game.

No install, virtually no loading times, and perfect frame rate with no screen tearing and no framerate drops.

It's a god damn masterpiece technically. I don't think it'll be bested till uncharted 3.
