Mine's FF III, not the DS remake, but the original NES one, the game was a bit boring, and it was the only FF with no story whatsoever (This was because the main FF team was already working on FFIV and FF III was left with a side team, with a young Nomura working on it). But even then it's a masterpiece of a RPG, and no console rpg at that time was as good as FF III, even Crystalis.
I hate using metacritic or other ranking site whatsoever, makes it sound like people don't have an opinion of their own about the game, instead listening what other people tell them. But yeah, as most people in here like to use that method, it's true, FFXII is in the highest ranking order, as all FF are.

Oh and BTW, FuSoYa rules xD

But II was still great, and IV takes some from II (which is a good thing since III was... weird).

Yeah, PS III generational characters was a wee bit confusing, and i'm still confused about it's canon weight, is it 1000 years after IV or is it during IV? I know that the JP version says 1000 years after, but the NA and EU isn't well defined.

I'm not sure. The NA/EU version says PS III is 1000 years after Phantasy Star II, which is at the same time as PS IV, but Japanese says 1000 years after Phantasy Star IV. This is all according to wikipedia. I haven't played much of that game. I do know that it spans through multiple generations though, which is kinda interesting.

Yeah, at the time i played the game i was confused since I got III and IV in 95 at the same time, only later i played the JP roms only to find that the canon was different :P.
Damn, now I got the urge to play IV again xD I may give it a try after i finish FFV :P

IV sure is a damn good game. Its probably somewhere in my top 5 JRPG's. Maybe I should replay it as well...

Haha as in matter of fact I'm currently playing Grandia 1. I'm actualy at final boss, grinding a little more before taking him down.
