I hope crucial wasn't banned for what he said in this thread, because he was 100% correct and banning him would have been completely unfair.

i cant tell you who banned him. Maybe ioi? might have had same IP as Blue3, idk.

Ban expires: 01/02/08

The hell? I guess he had to have been someone pretty bad to get banned like that.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure another Hus/KillZone3/whoever alt just popped up in here. Using the same sig is pretty dumb...

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Maybe Claude, but he hasn't done anything offensive.

I don't know these mods, I will however say that a rational person can easily moderate well despite a console bias. One can like a console more then another and not be an idiot.

Congrats on the modship

Note: Some games in my collection are no longer owned, but have owned.

Why is it congratulations?

A mod is the last thing I'd want to be

I think it's more of a "thank you."

Agree, I've been a mod in the past and it can be really ungrateful work.

I find it strange why there are so many Americans being mods, hardly a single European and only about 1 Asian and I see him online only about once a week, refering to Y-Koron :=/. Wouldn't it be a better idea to select world wide? A few from Asia, a few from the US and a few from Europe so there are mods online 24/7?

I think it would be best to pick people

-regardless of where they live

-regardless of their gaming preferences

-regardless of their skin color

and it would be best to pick based on

-ability to deal with people

-manner of speech

-intelligence

-high post count (or at least a frequent visitor to the site)

That's how I feel at least.

This website is visited by people from all over the world. And Europe is more than only United Kingdom, its also The Netherlands (me, Neo, StarcraftManiac, MikeB), Belgium (Konnichiwa), Greece (VonShigsy), Poland (Kber81, Wojtas) and I've seen many people from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Russia around here who're registered. To keep a forum safe and pleasant to visit, its important its guarded all the time.

But that's my opinion ;)

 I'm from Greee too Onna76!  :'(

lol, a mod free for all, guess all that whining paid off for ya SSJ12. Congrats to all of you. We're expecting you lot to do a good job.

I think what most people need to keep in mind is that almost everyone has a bias here. What people don't seem to realize is that typically someone who is biased isn't going to be able to see that other people who have the same biased even are biased. So all we get is a bunch of outcry from the Nintendo fanboys that ssj12 is biased or the Sony fanboys that rocketpig is biased or that everyone else is Nintendo biased or what have you. Suck it up and deal with it. If you see someone actually causing problems on the forums with their moderating behavior then you have the official avenues with which to deal with it. Complaining on the forums is not one of those.

Roffle.

It's not about bias, it's about how much of a troll they can be. If you just flamed a thread of people for poor reasons, you shouldn't be getting modded a few days later.

At least that's how I feel.

 I agree with you 100%

What the hell is with choosing these people as mods... there are some particular that I especially disagree with, but whatever.

Every mod I chose people would disagree with - this is the essence of having personal opinions. There isn't a person in the world that sees eye to eye with every other.

This isn't all about console wars. The two banned on this page were banned for criticising the site and the appointments we made. People aren't picked on personal bias and what they like to argue, they are picked primarilly to add to the game database, bring some balance to news stories and so on.

From now on, a user cannot be banned by a mod (unless in very obviously extreme circumstances) without first consulting either myself, Stof or Benkenobi. We make the final decisions, the other mods are here mainly to keep things running smoothly, look after the game database, remove spam and so on. Personal bannings based on differences of opinion isn't going to suddenly start happening so if you don't get on with a mod then that shouldn't matter and won't stop them doing their job properly.

ioi

That's stupid. Why are you not letting the mods outside of those two do their jobs?

Because ioi trust those two, if someone got banned by SSj12 they will say SSJ12 banned him because it was a Wii owner.

So with this no one complain about someone who is banned by a biased person.
