I agree with kowenicki

I do not see that happening under any circumstance, unless suddenly a GTA5 & DQ10 are simulteneously announced as PS3 exclusives while Kratos stabs Microsoft in the heart.

The reason why Xbox 360 is so high in sep-nov 2007 is because it got its first price drop in August and then Halo 3 released in September. This might actually be a more comparable situation to PS3 in 2009 than all the other years.

And to make figures makes sense without representing each I can assume that GT5 will have the same affect as Forza so nothing new will happen

But's it's really low for xmas season smaller than PS3 numbers

PS3 had a price drop at the end of October/beginning of November which probably led to sales remaining elevated through December. Actually if I recall correctly PS3 continued to outsell Xbox 360 worldwide for the first part of 2008 as well.

I think you are way too low on xbox 360 for Sept-Dec.

2.5-3.5 million?

It did almost 3.5 million last year, WITHOUT December, and it's still roughly flat year over year. tack 3 million on and you will have a better prediction.

Ps3: 6.5-7.5 million

360: 5.5-6.5 million.

@ koffie, Well if you look at the the Line charts PS3 has always been outselling 360 in each parralel console year, but 360 is a year older.

The only thing to change 360 console sales now are Forza, which will be balanced by the 2010 release of GT5 that's why I don't include those. I really do see PS3 outselling 360 by 60-80k every week now. But I'll wait one more week for this week's chart's and then maybe adjust my comment

As far as system selelrs for this holiday, I would argue that the 360 is just as good as PS3.

 

That still doesn't explain why you think 360 will be 2.5-3.5 million for september to December, that's down 50% from last year. In other words, it would need to be selling LOWER than PS3 pre price cut. (under 100k a week).

Well, that does make a little more sense. But it would still have to fall below 2007 levels (which you yourself said was pretty low) to come to that number.

I think 5.5-6.5 is pretty reasonable.
