Forums - Sales - PS3 Q4 vs. XBOX360 Q4 = Uphill climb for SONY?

I think we should wait till 2009 is over before talking about late 2010.

@starcraft

So M$ having mostly only sequels means nothing to u? Haven't u worked out yet that they don't move much HW at all? Look at ODST. Do u think 3 million new gamers are gonna jump out and buy HW for Halo Reach, the 3rd Halo game on the 360? Don't u think games like LFD2, Halo Reach, Spinter Cell Conviction, Fable 3, Gears 3 are selling mostly to their fans, and that their fans aleady have a 360?

Also, haven't u realised yet that it is the constant flow of "new" and "diverse" SW flowing in that maintains HW sales with added spikes?

L.A Noire is still comming. And seeing that Team Bondi is a SONY company, don't u think it will be a SONY exclusive?

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

I think that we all know sequels don't move HW. New IP's and next gen updates do. SONY knows this. Just look at their comming years line up.

Meh, you're overthinking it. Even with its semimeager sales on PS2 The Last Guardian has a better chance of selling hardware than any of those three since it hasn't had an iteration in the current generation.

No, not really. Shadow of the Collosus didn't even break a million.

and who knows what part of that million has yet to get a PS3 and will do so when it arrives.  It may not be any at all, but I'm absolutely sure how many of the purchasers of the last Halo, Fable, and Mass Effect already own 360s.  100%

Wait, you actually believe that any one of those Sony exclusives is going to move the million PS3's?

Now I see why we aren't agreeing.  Sequels sell consoles at new price points, that much we have seen from this generation.  What you haven't shown for a moment is that the PS3 has more diverse games of note coming over the course of the next year.  All you have done is acknowledged that the Xbox 360 has more, better sequels, the only point on which we have so far been able to agree.

I guess when Take Two, the developers and publishers of L.A. Noire, said that it was likely that the game was coming to both HD platforms, they were just joking.

You know, for fun and such.

Alright, I'll bet you the boost the 360 gets when either one of those next iterations comes out is bigger than the boost The Last Guardian will give the PS3.

None of those will have a notable boost. But sure, what do you want to bet?

Haha I dunno, I'm not really that confident. Just feel free to rub it in my face if I'm wrong.
