Mario Galaxy is the highest rated game ever followed by Ocarina of Time and GTA IV. Metacritic gave 96 to Uncharted 2, not 97.

It's totally fair. Back then, there were only a handful of gaming publications. And back then, all of them were good. Unlike the joke GameSpot has become now.

For most of the time that people were posting about the metascore, the score was 97.

What was your point, anyway?

GTA IV's review average will not be beaten this gen.

IMO UC2 is a much more enjoyable game for me, and worth the stellar praise it is receiving. I anticipate GOTY, and highest rated exclusive (on PS3).

I absolutely loved Mario Galaxy, so for UC2 to rate slightly below, if not on par when everything is all said and done is amazing.

Agreed it should be game of the year, and i'll also add that games like GTA4 shouldnt be regarded so highly.The GTA series should be regarded as the most repetitive games ever made.I love GTA when it had the overhead view and i was younger so i played them like crazy, but GTA3 made me realize how doing slightly different missions over and over made me want to cut myself.I still havent beat Imfamous because i went from "OMG this is so awesome" to "Man im going to get this part of the citys lights back" to "im going to get this part of the city lights back "to "Your telling me after beating sasha i have to do all that *hit in this city again."*uck this.Thought all games can be considered repetitive i didnt get that feeling at all when playing Uncharted 2,every bit of the game seemed everchanging and fresh.

It's a great score for the campaign, but that 96 definitely doesn't fit for the online part....
