Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get it repaired, rather than buy an entirely new console? Nintendo's even doing free repairs on non-modded consoles, and I doubt they'll refuse to repair a modded one ($90 vs. $200).

Most people i've heard of don't get stuff like that repaired. They might take it to someone they know or something like that, but if they can't do anything about it they'll just grab a new one. A lot of people can't be arsed going through all of the nessesary steps to have it officially fixed. Not only that, people with modded consoles might be nervous about getting theirs fixed. especially pirates.

I would say the Wii due to its larger casual install base is the least likely console to sell to existing customers as repeat buys.

Thats senseless none would buy 2 times the same console if you dont need 2 consoles just because the Price dropped. If that was a fact than we would have just 10 Million real PS3 or 360 owner. And i would have atleast 3 PS3s maybe 4. Some Die Hard Sony Fans maybe bought a Slim but thats a maximum of 10% its just insane to say that 750000 existing PS3 owers bought another one.

And its insane to predict that 75% of the cheaper Wiis sold to existing owners. I buy a console ONCE and never again in fact i never had to rebuy a console all my consoles are still working perfect. Its just a claim which has no piece of circumstancial evidence to be true.

The OP is ninja, he was stealth making fun of the prediction. Without a major hardware upgrade, existing owners will not rebuy the console (save for those who's consoles wigged out)

You pick up a extra Wii in case your Wii breaks and needs to be sent in. No, That's the 360. Wait you pick up an extra one because it's a good movie player and takes less power now so you'll have one in the living room and bedroom. No, that's the PS3.
There must be some good reason to buy a Wii and everything that goes with it twice. It scratched all the discs. No, that's PS2 and 360.



 Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

I suppose that will be the response of some people.  Especially those who were into modding.  But I know many people who had problems wit htheir Wii in the past.  Especially due to the early update 'gitch' with not being able to play Brawl.  And they not only went through the trouble of sending their console in for repairs, but got it fixed for free.
