I'm glad that you all agree, it's the PC mouse+keyboard that give console gamers the advantage in FPS and RTS, and not some ignorant generalization claiming that all PC gamers "have more skill."

Because that, my friends, is a childish and impossible argument.

The players arent the problem it's the control scheme. PC players can just do more skillful things than people using controllers, if you will.

Yes, because the PC has easier for controls, meaning that crazy things like (insert random trick for selected game here) are easier to do, meaning more people do it, while on the consoles only the elite of the elite can do equivalent tr1cks.

When everyone is using controllers how does it make them play in the kiddie pool? If anything your PC pro's are playing in the kiddie pool since Halo pro's are making more money than your pc players. T2 in one year makes 2 million dollars, and thats just one of the many pro's. Lets see how your PC pro's do if you make them play with a controller, I'm guessing for the most part they would struggle to get even a single kill. Give Halo pro's a keyboard and mouse and they could probably get a few kills on the pc pro's cause k&b is so easy to use.

How does showing someone using a K&b owning people with controllers prove anything? No one said k&b was worst than a controller.

If you don't think Halo is a great game then I feel sorry for you because you must not understand the concept of fun when playing videogames. See how stupid your blanket statements are.

You are seriously deluded if you think console pro-gaming is anywhere near PC pro-gaming. Starcraft is freaking a national sport! Last year the finals of one of the top SC competitions had over 100k people watching inside a stadium!!!

Console pro-gaming is boiled down to just:
Halo 3
Street Fighter
Guitar Hero

While on PC it's:
Starcraft
Counter-Strike
WoW
FIFA
Warcraft 3
Trackmania
Quake 3
Dota
etc...

People don't want to watch console games because it's slow and shallow (except racing and fighting games). Watching a Counter-Strike or Quake match is thousands of times better than a Halo match that is 50% slower and has less depth. Maybe that's why they removed Halo 3 from this year's WCG.

Let's summarize this PC vs Console pro-gaming thing: Starleague > All Console competitions combined.

wow you know nothing about competitive console gaming. Console pro gaming to list a few is

Halo3, GoW2, COD4, Street Fighter, Guitar Hero, SSBB, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Forza, GT, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Madden

and thats just a small list. Actually people do watch console games, MLG has had two full seasons broadcasted on tv. Please tell me a PC game thats been broadcasted on American national television. Starcraft is only as big as it is in Korea. Please list me all the major PC tournaments and their top prizes. Hell the madden tournament gives away a million dollars every year, more than any other pc tournament. How the hell is there a higher skill gap with a k&m? The skill gap is the exact same with a controller having a massive skill curve. Explain to me the skill difference between someone who's good with a k&b playing against people using a k&m and someone thats good with a controller playing with other people that are using a controller?

The fact is that console pro's are just as good as pc pro's in their respective fields, console games take just as much skill as pc games hence why there has never in the history of MLG been an unranked team that won a tournament, and console tournaments in America and many other places have become much larger than PC tournaments giving away much larger prizes and having more people attend.

None of you PC advocates even bothered reading my links because you all like harping on saying the exact same things every time instead of looking at whats going on around you.

You guys keep saying that k&m is like sprinting and game pad is like being in a wheelchair. Actually the correct comparison is F1 racing vs Rally racing. Sure one goes faster but they both take a massive amount of skill. The fact that you keep denying that isn't surprising though, you also seem to enjoy denying that almost every single big publisher has moved on to consoles and that console games are getting bigger and bigger while PC games fade. Keep on singing the same tune, it doesn't change the real world.

Ok fine, let's go with your analogy. Compare an F1 car to a rally cacr. Faster, tigheter turns, they can make a U turn going 200 km/h etc. Overall it takes a hell of a lot mroe skill to control the F1 car than to do the rally. hank you for agreeing with me.

Also that's what pisses me off. Budget games going on consoles because cnsoles games are simple and dumbed down. They are basically blowing their money on inferior an product, but nooooo people still buy that crap. Your console games are basically just shovelware.

No it's you that doesn't understand the analogy. Of course an F1 car would beat a Rally car in a race but that is because it was designed to go faster. It doesn't take away from the skill of the rally race and it doesn't mean in any way that an F1 racer is more skilled than a Rally racer. Both races take skill but they just take a different type of skill. In no way could you put a F1 racer into a rally car and assume he would be good, same goes for a Rally racer.

I'm not even going to respond to the second statement because it is flamebait and I seriously hope no one else enters this thread because you could get banned if reported for that statement and I don't want that.

Autoaim = automatic fail

Sorry, if your game has to have that crutch, it is less skillful, period.  Like I said, anyone can play with a gamepad on a PC, lets see them put up those scores without the freebies they get for using an inferior control scheme.

@youarebadatgames

So then by your analogy that means that anyone can be good at console games and that anyone can become pro at console games. So why is it that not once has there ever been a random unranked team in MLG that has even broken into the top 32 teams? If you think its so easy pick up a controller, go the the MLG national tournament and win $100,000. Should be easy considering all console gamers are noobs right?

Let me put it this way. Faster cars, FAR faster cars, requrie far faster respsonse times which means far more skill driving than in a rally, or god forbid, NASCAR. They are the most skilled divers on earth, plain and simple.

And they are basically shovelware, mediocre games that sell millions, fits the description just fine.

Because learning to use a retarded control scheme on a slow ass game is boring? Same reason why people like vo0, fat, and other pros don't think it's worth their time? Because what you think is so pro and awesome is old hat to PC games? Because nobody who has played FPSs the better way wants to play on a gimped control scheme?

Funny how the halo threads include how to get good at FFA, when FFA isn't even a competitive gametype on PC. Duel, Team DM, and CTF has been around longer and is done better on PC. How many spawn times do halo players have to keep track of vs. a quake player? How skillful is the movement compared to somthing like CPMA?

Yeah, I'm happy MLG draws large crowds cause everybody can buy a console and fantasize about being pro, it's good for e-sports in general but it is still years behind what PC has already done...they just watered it down enough for the masses.

And you're smoking crack if you think pro halo has anything on this:

hahahah so you won't bother to learn to use a "retarded control scheme" because its boring. So you can't take a week out of your time to learn how to use a controller and win $100,000 even though your sooo much better than pro console gamers? That statement is so full of bullshit it actually made me laugh out loud. Just admit you do not have enough skill to even come close to beating a console pro. Also there is no longer any FFA for MLG but how in the world do you think FFA does not take any skill? That is why Karma won every single FFA and 1v1 in 2006 for Halo 2, cause it takes no skill and is inconsistent huh? I honestly don't think you know anything about fps other than zomg mouse aims so fast!

@vlad

Any racing enthusiast can tell you how incredibly wrong that statement is. There are so many more factors to a race than just speed and response time, you clearly have no idea what your talking about. According to you drag racing is the most skillful form of racing then since they get to speeds well above what an F1 car can do
