Forums - Gaming - How the Ps3 can leave it's competitor's behind!! Megaman2 explains....

Megaman.2. Thread no763

Welcome to another Quality thread by none other than the Voice of the Community

This thread is aimed at the Sony Fans, I posted it in the Gaming Forums to obtain the feedback from all gamers. So please let your opinion be known.

With the recent introduction of the Ps3 slim, the ps3 has been on fire at one point even outselling the Nintendo Ds, which a year ago was unheard of. The introduction which prompted Nintendo and Microsoft to slash the prices of their respective consoles. To best the desctibe the Ps3 slim, 'Its a voracious Lion awoken from it's long sleep and it's out to kill'. So how can the Lion best outsmart its prey/competitor's. Megaman2 will explain.

The first thing that will see the Ps3 leave it's competitor's behind are games that forces you to buy the console despite not owning it. In the past a good example was Metal Gear Solid 4, looking ahead that game is Uncharted 2 both games are defining games of this generation. Uncharted 2 currently highest HD exclusive game according to Metacritic in this moment in time this title is held By LittleBigplanet another Ps3 exclusive.

Nobody Messes with Kratos, the fight starts March 2010

Looking to Q1 God of war 3 is another Game that will force any gamer jump in it's simply that good but you dont need me to tell you that. The ps3 has had a very strong and solid line-up in 09 arguably the best. Who can argue with Killzone 2, Infamous, Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls and Ratchet and Clank 2 all releasing in one year. where as the X360 has a very good line-up with the Wii not so very good, with most of it's AAA titles releasing in 2010.

Secondly would be re-releasing stellar Ps2 games on the Ps3 with a professional HD make-over. With the God of War collection due out november, it would be a smart strategic to release the best ps2 games on the ps3. With the storage of the Blu Ray most trilogy's can be held one disc e.g. Grand Theft Auto.

Releasing Ico/Shadow of the collusus on the ps3 is like having a new AAA title, both games are hard to find and are sold at crazy prices also did I mentioned that both games are considered among the greats of Gaming!

We wait patiently for both games to hit the ps3, Please Sony dont let us down.

Thirdly continue showing love to the Psn with continues updates, the Psn is consistenly being updated turning into a system seller. Consistent updates which question the Xbox live price tag. Keep releasing them innovative Psn titles and Icing on the cake is continue re-releasing Ps1 Greats.

The network that never stops improving!

Make Gran Turismo 5 the greatest Racing game of all time! We wont accept nothing less from Polyphony Digital and why should we

Closing Comment:

The ps3 Slim has found it's itself in a wave of momentum, a wave that wont be stopped easily. 2009 will see the releases of Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank and Final Fantasy 13 in Japan making for a very solid christmas. Q1 looks very solid indeed with God of war 3, M.A.G and Gran turismo 5 in Japan. With games such as The Last Guardian, R* Agent, GT5 for Europe and America the ps3 is looking good for 2010 and these are the games we only know. Knowing the studios under Sony's control we will sure to be surprised at the stellar software releases. Possible Ico/shadow of the Colusus re-release in 2010 and I will be the most grateful gamer if it's not too much too ask maybe a GTA collection on ps3.

One thing is for sure the ps3 is in a great position having already outsold the X360 in 2009 and overtaking the 360 in others. Japan looking like a battle between the ps3 and Wii which a year ago did not seem possible.

What do you think will the ps3 leave the competitor's behind?

Thank you the community. Megaman.2. Out

They need to secure a PS3 release for the next Earth Defense Force. Otherwise they might as well close shop and go home.

Yeah things have certainly turned around since the slim. We shouldn't write off another turn-around though. Anything's possible from MS and Nintendo, though I think Nintendo are in a very comfortable position.

It's not going to leave it's competitors behind but it can continue to compete very effectively. The game line-up is the main thing the PS3 needs. I think Uncharted 2 is the biggest reason to own a PS3 this year and it's a damn fine reason at that.

Will God of War 3 sell systems? I'm not so sure of that as the hack and slash genre isn't hugely popular but the PS3 will also have GT5 launching in the same timespan which will be the big draw next year.

My point? I don't really have one :)

Competition still tough - however I do think that 09 is they year of the PS3. Will see how holidays shape up!

Don't give the slim credit for what the pricecut did. Seriosuly, if the slim was released and the price remained the same I doubt there would be such an enormous increase in sales. The only people who care enough about the slim to rush out and buy a PS3 slim would be hardcore Sony fans. Really needed to get that off my chest.

Anyway, most of those games aren't really hardware pushing stuff, save for Gran Turismo. As for the battle between PS3 and Wii in Japan, it's like 8.5 million to 3.5 million, Wii has already won. You could even say Wii has already won on a global scale if you're a betting man. Also, from what I know of Nintendo's strategy, I doubt they did their pricecut in response to the PS3 pricecut, Microsoft may have, but I doubt that too.

I feel better now. I'm not sure if you're intentionally goat-getting, but it bothers me either way.

In conclusion, get your head out of the clouds.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

Oh @threadstarter

Megaman2 was BY FAR my fav game in the NES/SNES era. I even still played it during my PSone days. When I hear the music I get goosebumps as it was among my earliest memories (I was 3 when I got it). My Point? KUDOS.

doesnt it need to catch them first in order to have a chance of leaving them behind...?

My good friend Kowenicki, this thread is looking at how the ps3 could its leave its compeititor's behind with the strategic moves I mentioned. The thread is emphasises on how the ps3 can stay ahead of the competition in terms of software and future sales. Highly doubtful that the ps3 will catch the Wii but the X360 is not out of the question. Thank you sir.

Let me address this!

Firstly obviously the price cut is responsible for the surge in sales its common sense, Im talking about the ps3 slim as that is the current ps3 console in production. hardcore Sony fans already have a ps3 so there is no need to upgrade, the ps3 slim was introducted to save manufacturing costs! Really needed to address that!

Never once did I state that those games are hardware pushing games, I was merely looking at the quality of each game. Final fantasy 13 should move some considerable hardware in Japan so its not just GT5. Secondly when I said 'battle between the Wii and ps3' I did not mean in terms of total sales in that region I meant who would win the holiday season between both consoles.

Without question the introduction of the ps3 slim prompted Nintendo to reduce the price of the wii, The ps3 was outselling it and the consoles sales for the Wii were dropping in all regions, as for the X360 it reduced the price a few days after the ps3 slim announcement that is very suspicious indeed.

Dont be so quick to jump to conclusions maybe you should read the thread more clearly next time, I would appreciate a reply!
