My ps2 phat never broke. And I live in a tropical 30-40celcius urban full of dust place, used careless, played dvds, scratched discs and backups. Gave it away for my cousin and it still working great, only one controller broke.

Defending the 360 reliability is ridiculous, it is unforgivable as a consumer and I would never buy such unreliable HW that charges for online. Perhaps they will remodel it when natal comes, making even a internal upgrade like some rumors claim (wi-fi, +processing power,blutooth). Maybe them I will buy, but I will never pay for the online.

Ok, well, it's been another week and guess what? The PS3 got another .1% of marketshare.

The PS3 continues to edge up in marketshare, conquering the planet at a slow pace lol.

Blu-ray gets more and more popular all the time

Sony is adding some very profitable projects to its fold like the PSPgo, and isn't wasting time with big huge make or break ones (that are at its mid-life like MS is doing with Natal).

And with the Slim, they cut the price to manufacture the PS3 probably by $50, while both got a $100 price cut. So, in essense Sony has more room to make a future price cut, if need be b/c MS hasn't achieved a similar manufacturing efficiency.

And to top it off, as sony's market share grows it will be able to command more advertising $$$ and sell more and more SW, eventually getting to the point where it tops MS in software long before they beat em on the HW side.



Sorry, but I wouldn't put your hopes on the 360 , MS has mismanaged that thing from the begining w/ the RROD and now Natal which just does not look like it will be worth the huge investment that MS will have to make for the project- not just R&D but paying the developers off-as well as all the money needed to produce , ship, and market the natal product. MS would have made a much better investment with its $$$$ by putting more into its online services or by investing in more games to just shove Sony out of the market but they really took the stupid approach and they'll get what they deserve for the idiocy.

Sorry, i'm blunt but try to be honest.

Y'all have heard about Sony getting ready to put in the cross-game chat thingee right? Sony is building up the PSN steadily. If Sony keeps doing well in the marketplace, they will force MS to stop charging for its XBL.....basically making them cut the price which will be a big blow to MS's revenue.

The PSN gets better and better all the time....we have the huge MAG w/ zero lag, soon we will have the cross game chat......MS is sweating for something new to add to its XBL but its only possible to keep adding worthwhile stuff for so long. Eventually you will stop being able to differentiate yourself w/ features (like XBL can....for now) and content, and will have to compete with price as well.

I hope you plan on keeping this thread alive for at least 3-4 years then :P

Sure, but it will be a big thing when it happens.....and I expect two years it will be, max.

Another good week as even though the sales of the PS3 went down a bit, they still beat the 360 by about 70K. So, now the difference is about 7.25million and the PS3 grabbed another .1% of market share , most of the gains in market share I would assume are taken from the 360 because its sales are the lowest of the 3.

Hopefully we'll get the difference down to 6 million by the end of the year.
