Forums - Gaming - GAMESPOT or IGN? which site gives better game reviews other than these?

Lol @ people saying vgchartz. This site is OK for sales data, but the reviews are all very unprofessionally written by people who obviously lack a degree in English and journalism. The reviews are poorly written, bland with common grammar and spelling mistakes. Many of the reviews here are also completely irrelevant, mixing games that have released years ago with reviews of relatively new games. Reviews on this site are fan reviews and as such the quality is no better than those found in the user sections of gamefaqs or anywhere else for that matter.

Also, people criticizing Gamespot purely for their strict scores blow my mind. EVERY gaming website, without exception inflate their scores when compared to those given by other websites dedicated to other media such as film and literature. Games scoring 9 or over should be less than half of what they actually are, and games with an 80 and over should also be less than half. Gamespot is far too soft if anything just like every other site out there. The fact that we expect AAA games to get a 9+ proves that. Until video game websites begin scoring games based on more than technical matter, such as based on social relevance, artistic techniques techniques, congruence of gameplay and message and the meaning and message itself thtis will not change.

I don't have a preference but IGN is more, prestigious. As far as user reviews. gamespot is king. IGN usually doesn't have too many user reviews but gamespot has tons.

I've become pretty skeptical of all reviews lately, so I'm going to go with neither. I take my gaming advice from people I trust on this forum, and I do my own research into games.

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

it usually depends on the reviewer, but I think the best are from GameSpot. IGN has a lot of lazy guys and there's usually a lot of wrong information, except for the games with, ahem, high profile.

Whatever. It's still better.

the one that gives the highest reviews on PS3 games?

I agree with this.

Gamespot, I like IGN, but I feel that sometimes they're too lenient, you can be sure that a game that's "hyped" will get at least 9.0 most of the time. Gamespot, while it has reviews I don't agree with, like every site, can be way harsher, and thus more informative.

2) The PS3 review of Dead Space was put up a week after the 360 review, and was IDENTICAL.

3) Similarly, Dragon Ball Burst Limit had no PS3 review until WAY after the 360 review.

That proves that GS reviews with final code, they received the 360 game before, did the review, and didn't post the PS3 review before they have checked with the retail game that both games were identical and there were no regional differences

It's not even a contest.
