Forums - Nintendo - IGN: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Review

Rating Description
out of 10
6.0 Presentation
An intriguing story from the perspective of Organization XIII. Overall, a well put-together game, but environmental repetition seriously hurts this experience.
8.0 Graphics
For a DS game, this looks pretty darn good, though the DS hardware definitely limits 3D game design. Kingdom Hearts was originally a PS2 game, so squeezing it onto one little cartridge is tough.
6.5 Sound
Certain cutscenes are voiced, which is appreciated, but everything else is text-only. Music tracks are pulled from previous Kingdom Hearts games. Major drag.
8.0 Gameplay
Combat, more reminiscent of the original Kingdom Hearts, is fun and enjoyably challenging. Character customization and multiplayer options are great additions.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
With plenty of missions to unlock, multiplayer options to experiment with and a robust single-player story, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will last a long while.
8.0

Seems pretty good.

Seems ok.

This was originally a PS2 game? Or is he just talking about the first game.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Well they're idiots.

IGN is the worst reviewer ever.

He's talking about the series altogether.

meh. none of the scores people give it good or bad are going to affect my choice to buy it.

Are we getting to the point where reviewers are completely ignoring the concept of hardware limitations? Or merely damning games for not being on the best hardware possible?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I agree with you to an extent, but even if it's pushing the systems. I've noticed that nearly every portable 3D Square game has terrible jaggies and a few other issues that bog it down. I mean, Crisis Core didn't get a 10/10 despite looking better than anything before and that it looks better than most GC/PS2 games.

Why are some of you so defensive? 8 is good.
Heck they gave Kingdom Hearts 2 a 7.6 (which is totally crazy)

They are basically saying: KK 358/2 > KK2
