The game is absolutely fantastic. I bought the Special Value Edition (guitar, drums, mic), and I'm quite satisfied. Here are my impressions.
1. This game makes the Beatles fanboy in me go overdrive and practically go to fangirl levels. Never before have I seen a branded game that pays such homage to what it's based on. This game is a delight for Beatles fans.
2. How the **** do you play drums? Pardon my censored language, but I can't play Drums past Easy (and even then I have trouble). Pressing the pedal and hitting the pad and then hitting a different pad a split second later isn't easy, and that's only on Medium.
3. The guitar is really uncomfortable to play with. Maybe it's because I was sitting down, or I was playing it the wrong way, but it made my arm cramp after a while. Likewise, the drum pedal can occasionally make my foot cramp.
4. As great as the game is, I'm finding it difficult to keep a steady beat for more than a couple minutes. I often end up losing my streaks later on in long songs.
5. Singing is easier than the guitar and drums, and it's fun as well. However, I didn't feel great singing "Boys" in front of my snickering friends, and some of the vocals seem random.
Now, that may just seem like a list of complaints, but I do really like the game. Maybe some music game veterans can help me out here (this is my first music game by the way).
