MS goes to TGS too? I thought since the japan audience is against the box, they'd just skip it like nintendo and hold their own conference.

just to stress what everyone's already said.
Nintendo does not go to TGS. They do however, have their own conference where they are 100% the focus of everyone who comes. Much better in my opinion than having to compete with all the competitors.

In the same way that you win a game of Team Fortress 2 payload when your the only person on the server.

Did Sony finally put to rest any GT5 2009 hopes at TGS or was it just before? Not typically a conference winning sort of announcement, but an actual release month for GT5 is something new from Sony.

Haven't you learned Sony always wins, even when they lose they win, period. |
that's an interesting take, I could've sworn it was the other way around.

| Soriku said: Yeah, apparently nobody actually cares for more info games they were looking forward to and instead wanted new announcements for their wang measuring contest *rolls eyes* Tales of Graces and FFCC: TCB <3 Even FF XIII had a great showing. |
Well, that's what it is really ALWAYS about.
What!?!

What's frightening is that there were no new games from third parties for any home console announced. And the biggest loser here is the Wii without a doubt, it has almost no more games coming out after this year ends.
All we know about is RE:DSC and Sengoku Basara 3. NMH2 and Trauma Team are also coming, but they are small games in Japan. After that there's nothing else coming out I think, besides DQX which comes out in 2012 or around there.
The HD systems (especially the PS3) are still getting some big/semi-big 3rd party games next year or after in Japan, like Resonance of Fate, FFvsXIII, Yakuza 4, Lost Planet 2, RE5 w/motion controls, Dead Rising 2, Star Ocean 4 International, Sengoku Basara 3, Super Street Fighter 4, Final Fantasy XIV, Metal Gear Solid Rising, Nier, Front Mission Evolved, Dinasty Warriors Troy, Dinasty Warriors Online, Bayonetta, Front Mission Evolved, BlazBlue: Continuum, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Quantum Theory, Trinitiy: Souls of Zill O'll, and probably more I don't know about.
Price cut won't have any effect on the Wii after these Holidays if it undergoes another long drought like the ones from this and last year. And considering that most of the upcoming games are always announced or shown at TGS, I can easily see Wii going through a huge drought once again in Japan.
I always wonder why 3rd parties decided to ignore the Wii with so much conviction.
And Nintendo is NOT having a fall conference of their own this year.

Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

Yea, I've heard this complaint every single year, but I keep having more games I want to buy than I actually have time/money for. Maybe this year the Wii detractors will be right.

| axumblade said: Nintendo weren't at TGS to announce things (never are). And Microsoft just announced some Natal stuff (to combat Sony's wand stuff). Although if Microsoft actually release a Katamari game for the 360, I'll have to get it. Not because it'll use Natal, but because it's Katamari.... |
Beautiful Katamari was released for 360 back in 2007...
As for Nintendo and Microsoft, TGS only allows one company to do a keynote... The others do their announcements before or after TGS. It is an unwritten rule that the big three play by... Remember, last year Microsoft had the huge TGS announcements (SO4, Price cuts, Gears 2 details, etc.), and the year before was Nintendo with WiiFit.
I expect next year will be owned by Nintendo... Wii HD anyone?

More like there are two others on the server, but they've been drinking, are high on pot and haven't slept in a week.
