Forums - General - Gay genetics

You know, I''m always baffled why issues such as gay marriage are considered hot button issues and controversial. Or why someone being gay or the question of it being a choice or born that way..My attitude? Who cares? it is what it is, they are human beings first and foremost and shouldn't be denied rights of any kind.

That being said..interesting read.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Eh, I don't buy into the "gay gene".

Homosexuality has too many trends that seem to be non-gene based.

For example... children born later are more likely to be gay then first born sons.

The "best" theory in my opinion and the one that seems to hold the most scientific merit is that people tend to become "Gay"( or rather more gay since it isn't so black and white) in the mothers womb.

can  ask you are you gay?

Nope.

That's a great article. I completely agree with it and believe those are the main mechanics behind true homosexuality (while some bi-sexual behaviour we see in our society today could also be influenced by social factors).

A homosexual act is still a sin in God's eyes.

Good job not that many people in developed reigions really care.

What the hell? This post is... contradictory.

How do you define act?

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

I think you're born gay, and I'm sure it will be proven 100% sooner or later.
Am waiting for all the religo-nuts on this site will be up in here complaining about these studies, just like the article says they like to do.

I too believe people are born gay, it's not a choice. I have never seen much reputable evidence to show it is from nurture as opposed to nature. We are almost at the point where we can confirm that it is nature over nurture.

And I agree, that bit about the conservatives who refuse to believe that a gay lifestyle is not a choice really was just saying it like it is, I admire the journalists ability to just be honest and open about that, even a filthy liberal like me can't say it so straight.

I do support this statements!

It makes sense that there is a "gay gene". But the environment will also have a huge effect on it.

So god made people fall in love with people of their own sex and then made it an offense to have sex with somebody of your own sex?

Man, God has a fucked up sense of humour.

When God created mankind he chose not to interfere with mankind's free-will, he will let you do what you want. However, some people choose to love a member of the same sex with their free will, but some say that god put you here to procreate. That's where this whole situation gets really messy.

Well I certainly didn't choose to be gay, and I don't think anyone who is gay or straight has "chosen" to be the way they are. There must be a gene of some sort that determines sexuality.

i agree...but..

IMO 80-90% of gays/lesbians have a gene...
