Forums - General - Gay genetics

That's a great article. I completely agree with it and believe those are the main mechanics behind true homosexuality (while some bi-sexual behaviour we see in our society today could also be influenced by social factors).

A homosexual act is still a sin in God's eyes.

My ex BF had a gay brother, and he left me for a guy who also had a gay brother.

Stay away from gay guys with gay brothers, whoever you are, they're all dicks!

I know this isn't what was meant to get out of this, but do gay individuals really have longer ring fingers and genitalia on average than straight individuals? I have never heard of this before and it is quite interesting.

I knew seece was gay, lolz

Anyhow, let me ask you something, if gay people choose to be gay, how would that be? A guy with a nother guy, and you absolutely love women, how will you like a guy? It makes no sense, you cant just be attracted to a guy because you choose to be, it doesn't work that way.

Eh, I don't buy into the "gay gene".

Homosexuality has too many trends that seem to be non-gene based.

For example... children born later are more likely to be gay then first born sons.

The "best" theory in my opinion and the one that seems to hold the most scientific merit is that people tend to become "Gay"( or rather more gay since it isn't so black and white) in the mothers womb.

can  ask you are you gay?

Nice post leo! (To be expected though, because I believe your name is Joel and anyone with that name is a stone-cold genius, I should know) I am a very open-minded person, I have lots of gay friends and think everything about being gay is fine. But I am in no way attracted to men, when I sit around the coffee shop, scoping the scene, the guys might as well be invisible, I just see "blonde, brunette, redhead". . .

Some people in this topic need to either read this article before commenting, or work on reading comprehension. I mean who said "Shouldn't they be extinct if it's genetic?" IT'S IN THE DAMN ARTICLE, DID YOU NOT READ IT?

This is just a pet peeve of mine. People who feel that their opinion on a matter is so important that they have to comment on a topic without even knowing what was said in the original post. Just "Talking about gay genes? I've got something to say about gay genes. I don't have time to read, I only have time to talk." I mean for fucks sake, if you only have time enough to do one then read, don't talk. That's the important one.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

I don't belive in this.
If this was in genes don't you think that gays would be already extinct after so many thousands of years ?

IMHO it all comes from culture.

That's the equivalent of saying you don't believe hair color is genetic because wouldn't we be all blondes by now?

You managed to fail twice in single sentence.

First because hair color has nothing in common with a person having children while being homosexual certainly has.

Second because the chosen by you color is genetically endangered to become extinct and natural blondes are getting more rare with every passing century.

If I have to spell it out I will, what I meant to say is that something can be transmitted genetically that doesn't mean the characteristic will be expressed in every descendant. So "gay" can be in the genes just as much as hair color.

Signature goes here!

Good article. One thing I think it missed when discussing the reason why gayness didn't fade away through evolution is society. Society has pretty much universally been anti-gay. So, in the greater part of our history those who were gay had to suppress that fact and have heterosexual lives, thus producing offspring with their larger than average penis' and middle fingers.
