IMO, Sega's games suck. ALL of them.

Well you had little no credibility around here. At least before that post. Whatever credibility you had if there was any left to begin with just went out the window. Before they left the hardware market, Sega was arguably the best video game developer in the world and they were the most versatile developer in the world period. Sega could make a AAA title in any genre. Whether it be platforming, fighting, RPG, sports, etc. For you to say that all of their game sucked shows that you have no taste in games. Eventhough Sega's quality has taken a serious hit in the past few years AM2 is still a AAA caliber developer.

Sega hasn't released a AAA game in years!! So I understand why alot of younger posters here are saying Sega sucks.

I don't want to be to harsh but Sega is like the EA of non-sports games (excluding Virtual Tennis). Nothing remotely creative has come out of that studio in years (please show me an example if I'm wrong).

The actual Sega sucks, but the old Sega made some of the best games in VG history. Shinobi, Sonic, Streets of Rage, Beyond Oasis, Shinning Force (ignore newer titles), Streets of Rage (should be in any top5 beat em up list).

I think Sega is kinda like Nintendo. They need to work on their own hardware to make good games. After losing hardware exclusivity they lost their creativity and control over the development process.

The last good Sega game I played since Genesis days is Yakuza. Virtua Cop, House of the Dead, Crazy Taxi are ok, but I see them like arcade games.

I remeber when Sega was good ...... ahhh.

I was only a gamer during the Dreamcast days though ....

I think Smilebit still put out some interesting games last generation; they're basically the reason I bothered to buy an Xbox at all. They also made The Typing of the Dead, one of the coolest games of all time. Also, Space Channel 5 rules!

Hates Nomura.

It seems that these days, they spend a lot more time publishing games from other developers and releasing various remakes/updates of old games, rather than making altogether new games. Sadly, I think the financial troubles they have continually found themselves in have severely hampered their ability to provide original and exciting content without facing the wrath of their shareholders. It must be depressing for them; they truly are (or have been) one of the greatest software developers ever to exist.

This is a new generation of gamers, rocketpig. Unfortunately, I don't think they know their roots, as Soriku has just proven.

Bionic Commando and Golden Axe are welcome additions, just like NiGHTS and Street Fighter. Long live old school!

No kidding. Now I'm awaiting the triumphant return of Kid Icarus, which will surely be met with blank stares by half the people on this forum, with half of the trolls recognizing Pit as "that fag from Super Smash Bros."

Yeah, it's really too bad.  I remember massive amounts of people on gamefaqs when Melee came out trying to figure out who Game and Watch and the Ice Climbers were >_<.  I'm with you.  I love Golden Axe. I hope this is true.  I play Golden Axe on VC constantly.  I still need to buy Golden Axe 2.  It's one of the best co-op beat-em ups of the SNES/Genesis generation.  The only thing I liked more was TMNT on the Genesis.

Why are idiotic teenagers who derail threads with their trolling not banned?

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
