Your theory hinges on averaging the two attach rates for the first Final Fantasy to launch on a platform. It ignores the fact that the launch of the series has been in devlince regardless of platform size, or when it was released. |
If you have a different analysis, please do share.
@AT - I know you say Famitsu predicts 1 million tops for Week 1. But, Media Create also predicts 4.5 million total install base for the PS3 by the end of calendar year. Both are respectable marketing firms. Do you believe Media Create then also?
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Again I ask "Is this serious?" Look at the DS' userbase and look at the PS3s. Also look how much more popular handheld games are this generation in comparison to Console games. Finally look how much more popular Dragon Quest is in Japan in comparison to Final Fantasy. The OP presented pretty good reasons to back up the argument, and I agree, but yours don't make too much sense.
