Forums - General - Feathered dinosaur fossils find has Chinese scientists all aflutter

Check the link Kasz. There's an artists rendition of it. The 4 wings refer to the plumage on it's legs. It's still a four limbed creature, just with all 4 being wings, as upposed to 2 or 0 of it's limbs.

Looked at the link.  Thought they meant they found different species.

Finding 5 of the same undiscovered animal... in one spot?  That makes it sound even more unlikely.

Either way the whole thing reminds me of a Gryphon.

This is interesting. But a 4 winged dinosaur isn't new. Microraptor was discovered some time ago.

Also, instead of watching Jurrasic Park... it makes me want to play EVO.

Now that was an awesome game.

I thought it was fairly common to find groupings of fossils, which would make sense for animals that travel in herds or family units. Maybe they were all together for flying lessons. Trying to figure out how their new appendages worked.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Groups yes.... 5 though seems like a lot to me.

Usually from what i've seen collections of fossils have usually been like, sites of struggle.

How would these 5 have been fossilized?  Killed by something natural while alive?

A landslip or something could explain it. Would aid the fossilisation and kill a bunch at once.

Also, awesome.

If it wasnt a natural event that killed these dinosaurs, then scavengers would have eat from the body and spread the bones around (they tend to anyway).

That's pretty solid evidence.
