what?? judged by how he treated Helios with his huge palm I think he was well intended to kill him. besides, fathers and sons killing each others is completely normal to Greek methology. Avenging Helios can't be the reason why he attacks Kratos.

@iBlah
we'll have to wait till March 2010 to get the answers...
I think it's because the Titans are probably just as power hungery as the Gods. That's why Cronos ate his children and why Zeus kills Kratos.
They need Kratos to help them kill the Gods just so they can reclaim power. Kratos realizes this and decides to get rid of all Gods and Titans.
EDIT: And the Titans probably see Kratos as a huge threat once he's done with the Gods.
I haven't understood that myself so I'm guessing they still hold a grudge or something. In the demo footage, Kratos is ascending the air vent when suddenly the titan makes a swipe at him which prompts Kratos to respond (hence those images).

its Perses.. Hyperion . kronos is dead |
Kronos isn't dead. I remember, he had Pandora's Temple on his back in God of War, so he was alive then. And then Kratos went back into the past and got all of the Titans and brought them to the present. So are there two Kronoses?

anyone who finished Gow 1 on God mode would know that kronos was dead, with the temple on top of him... time travels confuse me.

How did I forget that? >_<
But yes, all of the Titans were there during the Titan War, so all of the Titans would be attacking Mount Olympus.

but by the time the titan war was going on, all the gods were there as well...zeus is the only gof kronos couldnt eat making it clear that kronos has already being captured by zeus by the time he time travelled ?
I hate stories involving time travel.

No, no. I distinctly remember Kronos being there in Atlas' flashback. He was being owned by Hades, or something. It was only then that Zeus used the Blade of Olympus and imprisoned them all.
Kratos went back to before Zeus used the blade, and brought back all of the titans (Kronos and Atlas included).
