Forums - PC - Installing a new monitor

Just plug it in. The only issue should be if your comp is really really old and you pick up a monitor that exceeds its video card (or onboard video)'s max resolution.

lol, I find your question funny.

Your monitor does not need to be installed/uninstalled. Only video cards need that.

You only need to find out what your monitor's native resolution is (should be in the manual) and set your display for that.

lol why?

All you'd really have to do is just plug in the monitor and it would work, that's why. Also as somebody else recommended, plugging it into your computer via DVI is better than with VGA (digital signal)

Of course, that doesn't account for stuff like the resolution being set to work with the previous montior (as you've seen).

Also, what model number is that? A simple picture doesn't really say anything especially since I'm not familiar with Dell's mondels.

Dell - 18.5" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor
Model: IN1910N
