Well if you look at the figures I posted, it works like this;

Gran Turismo 1 did near enough 10m, it was the first Gran Turismo game on the PS1

Gran Turismo 3 did near enough 15m, it was the first Gran Turismo game on the PS2

Gran Turismo 5 SHOULD do anything over 10m, I've said 15m max, but looking at the pattern here, it SHOULD be 20m, but I seriously can't see that happening, which is why I've lowered my expectations to 10-15m.

And that's exactly why I compared it to Halo, we all know that Gran Turismo is a bigger franchise, and it DOES have the selling power, it really is a system mover as we've seen in the past, and at the moment, the PS3 has a larger userbase than the 360 did when Halo 3 was released... so why are people having doubts about it not being able to sell 10m, I mean, it's a no brainer.

Gotta love the pointless comparisons between last gen GTs and this gen Halo. Let's see what's wrong with this picture...

Two games not in the same genre? Check.

Two games not in the same generation? Check.

Two games with not nearly the same userbase? Check.

Seece, I said it SHOULD if it were following the trend, although I've already given my prediction, which is above 10m, but with a 15m limit, I can't see it going higher.

And ioi, if you take 5m from the Gran Turismo 3 sales, you still end up with a nice 10m sales from it (Well, almost), and if the PS3 is going to last 10 years, or maybe MORE (To be honest, I can see this generation lasting longer than 10 years...), that means there's still 7 years left to get over 10m sales and anywhere up to 15m sales. And since there's more fans of Gran Turismo than Halo, and there's a bigger userbase on the PS3 as of now than there were on the 360 two years ago, I really do think Gran Turismo 5 has a chance of being on parr with Halo 3 sales, or maybe even sell higher in its lifetime.

Call me crazy, but that's how I think it is.

When, you people doubt in selling power of Gran Turismo 5, just watch those trailers, or i could post more of them.
They are just stuning now and for next several years.

Another thing, if Halo 2 was able to sell around 10 mln. on much smaller userbase than PS3(will be), why GT5 won`t be able to do that? Especially, when GT5 has much more improvement(mostly online mode) over GT3/GT4. :)
And games like Halo or GT are not games like Madden, which come every year. They usually come once in 3-4 years, and have looong legs.

I don`t speak about 20 mln., but i think 15 mln. LTD could be real.
10 mln. is definitely.

PS3 probably will be around 30 mln. by the end of this year.
2010 - 40 mln.
2011 - 50 mln.
2012 - 60 mln.
That if PS3 continue to sell not more, than 10 mln. per year. Yet, there will be still 199$ price somewhere at that point.
15mln. is only 25% of 60 mln. userbase, and why not? When GT is the strongest PS franchise and overall it looks like to be a VERY great game.

I'll keep my eyes open, but if you see it and I don't, please direct me over there and I'll provide another check list.
