Forums - PC - The Sith Lords Restoration project beta is out now!

*snort*

Hate to break it to you, but by the end of the game, even those meat-heads, the Guardians, can do that. KOTOR late games aren't particularly well-balanced: you can single-handedly carve your way through hundreds of Sith Lords...

And then you meet Malak, and remember how the game was challenging once upon a time.

Then you use a certain force power, and things are back to normal.

Around the Network

Well at least the final battle in Sith Lords is tough for Consulars and their prestige class equivalent....

I never tried that. I once played as a consular in the original, but never in II. I guess I just didn't like the slow start they have, even if they're insane in the late game.

They're not too bad, really.... Especially if you go Dark Side.

You get Force Lightning before you get off of Telos, even!

Ah, to spit death from my fingertips...

I always favored the Choke/Kill line for dark side powers, actually. It's worlds less effective, especially compared to Force Storm, but it's so much more sadistic...

Around the Network

Actually, you would be surprised. By the tim you get to the final planet, almost nothing can save against your Kill - and two effective castings of that will kill anything in the game. I took out every giant mosnter with two shots of it, and even Sleep With Vibroblades didn't stand a chance.

True, it gets the job done, but by then you're being swarmed by five-to-eight Sith at once. But press Force Storm twice and it becomes a question of "what Sith lords?"

Sentinels FTW, by the way. I take Kreia's lessons to heart, and learn to do things without using the crutch that is the Force. It makes half my party obsolete, though...

Well, the skills are the one and only reason to ever use a Sentinel, anyway. You'll only need Computer Use, Repair, Persuade and perhaps Awareness, though - and those can be taken by any other class, especially Guardians since they have a ton of feats to burn.

And I don't remember the last battle being THAT tough. Male Consulars can crank their defense high enough that the TK sabers can't land a hit on you, and if you're a darksider, you can just spam Force Crush and wipe the floor with ***. Force Plague also works nicely.

EDIT: Slight spoiler that nobody really cares about.

Well, granted, it's much more situational.

That said, I never had to pick and choose, because I was a Consular.

Sentinels were also handy in the original (where skills meant squat) because of their immunity to Fear, which every Sith used at least once per battle. It annoyed me to waste three rounds, so I went with the Sentinel. Also, that let me have a party of one Sentinel, one Guardian, and one Consular. I liked the elegance of that arrangement.

In this game though, all the other skills save for Stealth are useful at least once, and being a LS perfectionist, I must be able to do anything and everything. I freely admit that it's the weakest combat class though.
