Forums - PC - The Sith Lords Restoration project beta is out now!

You know what pisses me off about Star Wars?

It was generally accepted that bringing balance to the Force in the prequel trilogy meant that neither Dark nor Light would find power over the other and they would continue to exist in all things.

But no, Lucas says. The Light side is balance.

I don't think he realizes the potential for interesting storytelling in the shit he makes up. Avellone understood better, portraying Jedi and Sith as separate factions of the same religion, or at least they were that insofar as the galactic citizenry were concerned. That was great.

Man this is a good game though

I partially want a KotOR3 to see exactly what's going on with the Sith Empire beyond the Outer Rim.

I agree. Lucas' talent for squandering great ideas is disheartening at best. Plus, that explanation doesn't even make sense: before Anakin Skywalker came around, the Light Side WAS mostly on top.

If I were in the Star Wars universe, I'd probably be a Jedi hater myself. Yes, current members go around doing good deeds. But their arrogance and stupidity has bred generations of Dark Jedi who go on murderous rampages. Almost every major conflict in the galaxy came about because the Jedi aren't able to keep their house in order! Why is Avellone the only one who really explores that reality?

I don't want to say I'd end up taking Kreia's route. Maybe Jolee Bindo's.

I could see becoming disillusioned with the whole order very, very quickly.

It's almost amazing that LucasArts approved of some of the content in this game.

I'm talking from the perspective of a non-Jedi. If I were in the order, I'd probably be less harsh: not only am I now part of the home team, but large chunks of what they do actually make sense once you see things from their perspective.

The problem is that they're secretive idiots who think they're above having to explain themselves to the rest of the galaxy, so it's not surprising that everyone else calls the war with Malak a Jedi Civil War. They both wave swords around, they both think they're above the law, and they both limit their interaction with the public to "I do what I want."

Sure, one's far more violent and openly avaricious than the other, but as Atton points out, the Jedi are just as willing to abandon their pacifism when it suits them (and only them). It just seems like such a poor system: the Jedi have to avoid prolonged conflict, as reality forces them to compromise their core beliefs. What is the point of a moral code that only works when no stress is placed on it?

I just like having these questions asked.

Unfortunately, they probably won't be anytime soon. I don't see them doing a KOTOR III in the near future thanks to that MMO. We'll probably never find out what Revan and The Exile did in the Unknown Regions. I'm not going to play that game, but I am deeply interested in hearing what happened in the preceding 300 years. How was the Order rebuilt so quickly? Who did the rebuilding? How did the Republic survive when G0-T0 said its infrastructure would collapse soon? What happened to the HK army? (Probably nothing... ). Why are the Mandalorians fighting the Republic again?

So many questions. Sadly, I don't have faith in Bioware to give satisfactory answers.

The questions are being asked now, in the game we're currently playing.

I know that KotOR2 had an Empire Strikes Back ending, but it was still an ending in and of itself: it told the story that was to come, and one can only imagine what happened thereafter but something happened.

I'll be satisfied if we never get a KotOR3, I suppose, if only because so much of the interesting philosophical ground was covered in this game, but I would like to see one very much.

Bah! I need to get back to playing, soon.

Me too. Stupid work...*grumble grumble*

The xbox emulation on the 360 sucks ASS. Characters frequently loss their path, stop in the middle of a fight, and delete all of your queued attacks. It's pissing me off.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

It's the same story on the PC. I'm afraid the game is buggier than the downtown projects in Detroit. And the list of flaws is a mile long.

I still love it though.
