It will definitely do, but PS3 is 130k+ in the lead n also in FFXIII week PS3 is going to do some insane numbers.. but the point is who is going to sustain it at higher level after these megaton releases on weekly basis and so far it look like PS3 is just treading higher than Wii

True, but i aint so positive yet unfortunately :P if it can sustain 100k for ToG week, then i'm positive the Wii will beat PS3 for the holidays by a good margin. Cant wait for December to start though!

actually you have a good point there, i think it will take a lot longer than 10 weeks to sort it all out as well, but i am looking forwards to seeing how many SW bundles get sold because of final fantasy and NSMB, it will be close that is for sure, but ps3 will start gaining ground again once the holdiays are up (everyone always go wii crazy at christmas lol). Can't blame them tho the wii is a great console and i still get plenty of fun out of mine (as well as my ps3).

did someone suggest that the Wii could drop the price to 99 dollars... Yeah... maybe if they want to be as dumb as sony and start losing billions of dollars. Seriously, they were using old tech... the reason why Nintendo didn't drop the price till recently is because they are profit driven company and they could drop the price and make a profit at the same time... so now you want them to drop the price twice as much as they did already? Yeah... it'll spur sales to insane amounts but it will sell more than the Ps3 did and at a loss.

I agree why should they drop the price to 99 dollars, they are still selling like hot cakes here in the eu and over in the us, there is no need for any more price cuts.

Sony are not as dumb as you think, they do have a strategy to regain all the money they lost, put it this way it is better to lose the amount they are per console, then lose everything they have put into every console, things will turn around soon though, i am sure psp, ps2 and sofware will help them get some profitability back again

Its not about profits sometimes. When your competitors catch up, its not a good sign, and i think Nintendo are afraid of further declines especially since software was a major issue. They had to drop the price to find new consumers, and it was logical.

But i also believe that they do need big software, and thats why nintendo are working on big titles now like Zelda, metroid, SMG2, NSMB, pikmin, dynamic slash, and a vitality sensor game. They know they have to act and thats what they're doing

Again, strong support =/= big sales, but a lot of games. And PS3 owns Saturn/N64/GC in terms of quantity and quality of 1st/2nd party games. Though, most games are west oriented.

Also, +-5k i count as around 30k+ levels. I mean, 27-28k it`s still around 30k+.
I don`t expect PS3 to go below 25k for 5 weeks in Japan during 2010.

@saicho, i don`t make bets for half a year or a year. That would take to much time for waiting.

This thread is gonna take 6 months to see how it would turn out and you don't seem to mind waiting.



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

So 6 months bet and from today... So, you wanna bet, that PS3 will sell below 25k for more than 5 weeks during January - February - March - April - May. You really do?

Well, i think PS3 will reach 5M atleast by the end of March 2010 in Japan(if GT5 still will come in March). And there is a slim chance, that this will happen before the end of January, since you never know, how big will be this holiday for PS3.
