First six months of 2008 = 1,531,764  <-- This is a 15.5% yoy decline, not an increase.

Furthermore...

First six months of 2009 = 526,686  <-- This is a 65.6% yoy decline

I still remember people saying here that Wii would outsell the PS3 the week after RE5 was released, when in reality the PS3 would outsell the Wii for about 2 months (till may if remember correctly). Hell, even the Japan preview was the whole time wrong during those months. It was pure wishfull thinking from the staff.

VGChartz does a great job giving us numbers, but it's pretty obvious which colours they support.

In the end Japan is pretty much unpredictable and people just hope that game 'x' gives console 'a' the necessary boost too outsell console 'b'.

If Nintendo can sell WSR as greatly as Wii Fit or Mario Kart Wii, there's a huge opportunity for it to become a system seller. Now it's selling a lot to Wii owners, but as time goes on there will be less Wii owners and more non-owners which will buy it, just because the Wii owners usually buy games near their release date...if WSR keeps selling over 20-30k also in 2010 you'll see Wii selling better than what it did in the last months, and it's not just because of the price cut!

On the other hand, i'm ones that think that Wii Fit Plus will give HW a very little boost...but there's NSMBW! In japan there's a lot more than this 3 games, which will sell millions...so i can't see a single reason to think that the Wii will perform worse than the last year...

I think the Wii will win thanks to consistently placing above PS3, week in week out.

However, I don't think the PS3 will be left far behind. It'll be a respectable 2nd place in this race.

ioi is just giving us a prediction (Which can be wrong, he's not saying that he hopes Wii beats PS3) and the other admins have their own preferences...it's well known that Sony Fans > Nintendo Fans > MS Fans...don't throw in the console war, we are making an interesting discussion about Japan's sales in the next months...these are the better discussions of all the forum (also beacuse of the admin's opinion)!

And what are you using to support these claims? Where are the facts, trends and historical data? FF13 is supposed to push a ridiculous level of PS3s just because you want it to? Every time you get an opposing answer you just go "NUH UH!" and then raise your prediction.

And ore ROFFLES. Why the HELL would something like Assassin's Creed or Uncharted sell 150k? Are you smoking? The original Uncharted didn't even crack 100k in Japan, you haven't given any reason why the sequel is going to flatten Japan and blow PS3s off the shelf when the first game didn't.

Are you sure you're not someone's alt here to give everyone a good laugh? The only other explanation is that you're delusional. You have no grasp of reality or sales trends, past present or future and yet you insist on fighting people who actually know what they're talking about.
