Forums - Sales - Canadian NPD, X360 > Wii by 20%

Everyone i know owns a 360 or wants one, no one i know wants a PS3 or a wii, only one person i know owns a wii, and everyone else thinks it is the worst thing to happen to gaming. The massive price drops of the 360 should do wonders for it this year in Canada.

Wii probably increased in Canada because of better supply. In the last few weeks I have seen a few Wiis on shelves, whereas before it was always empty.

I thought that it was Wii slowing down, but this helps confirm that maybe they are bringing in more supply.

Plus many stores are dropping the price of the wii it used to be $290 at some stores and now its $270, of course it started off at $280 and they raised the price.  Plus it comes with a free game at Future shop.

Most antecdotal infomation has pointed that Canada had stopped selling out of Wiis about 1-2 months ago....I think it was then that the Wii had a pretty major drop in sales (atleast compared to what it has had lately).

However, when supply meets demand, and your still selling 40k a month in Canada.....You know you have a seller.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

We should expect US numbers tommorow, at a similar time.

Canada is 10% the market of the US.

Meaning if Canada X360 sells 51.2k, then the US probably sold around 512k, not 470k.

Therefore, if it was 10%, we'd get:

X360: 563.2k
Wii: 471.9k

Which is really, really good for both systems.

Also, one should note: Hardware is up 244% in revenue from last year. That's just.....Insane. Last year was a down year due to next-gen, but 244% should be a massive increase overall.

Well, while it really is impresive, I personaly don't think that the us NPD will be canada times 10 because a important game like NHL was not even released for the Wii. I think that and Halo was a major factor, while in the us NHL is not that big. I am guessing more of 510k for xbox and 480 for wii.

I new ioi undertracked X360, especially during Halo 3-week (200,000 was my prediction, compared to 125K reported by vgchartz - although ioi made up for it apparently by adjusting the X360 numbers upwards in the two following Oct weeks).

Canada 50K ---> US NPD 550,000 = total 600,000 X360's sold in NA in sept.
Yay!

US NPD numbers haven't been releases yet, so you are way too early to claim 360 numbers on this site are undertracked. Actually it is not unthinkable that the 360 got a bigger bump because it is less popular in Canada compared to the US so less Halo 3 fans already owned a 360 there when Halo 3 came out. If the US numbers give reason to adjust the numbers ioi will do it, but don't jump to conclusions without having any proof to support your claim.

Just wait until tonite koffieboon and you'll see I was rite.

Impressive 360 numbers.

Everytime I see a hardware thread, I always wonder who these mysterious people are that continue to buy the GBA? I think there's a time-traveling cult on the loose out there...
